There are over 367 million people following Buddhism. The top ten most Buddhist populated countries are, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Laos, and Japan. Buddhism started through one man named, Siddhartha Gautama. You might recognize Siddhartha as “Buddha.” Siddhartha was born in Lumbini, during the 5th century BCE.
The daily life of a buddhist monk was extremely peaceful. Monks shave their heads and wear bland robes in order to keep simplicity within their lives. Buddhism is hard to follow, considering, the small amount of food, and meditation. Buddhism is a religion that originated from India through Buddha. In any religion a monk is a member of a monastic order. A bikku is a male monk within the religion, Buddhism.

In the religion Buddhism, the mind is capable to create any kind of conceivable self, environment, or experience. The daily life of a monk consist of waking up at 4:00 A.M. a monk will hit a gong to get everyone up. The monks will meditate for one hour then chant for one hour. At 6:00 A.M. monks walk barefoot in town while townspeople offer them merit by giving them food. At 8:00 A.M. monks go to the temple together to eat breakfast, then make a blessing for world peace. Before 12:00 P.M. some monks choose to eat a light lunch. This is the last solid food they are allowed to eat until the next morning. At 1:00 P.M. classes in Buddhist teaching start. Some monks may go to school outside of the temple. At 6:00 P.M. a two hour session of meditation and prayer begins. At 8:00 P.M. the monks leave to go do homework.

The daily life of a buddhist monk was extremely peaceful. Buddhism, monks, and Buddhist monks are all similar in their own ways, but there are also a lot of differences. Becoming a monk isn't for everyone, but you should be the one to decide if it's right for you. In all honesty I think that every religion is hard to follow. The daily life of a Buddhist monk might have been peaceful, but that doesn't mean that it isn't hard.
