Anne Frank’s extraordinary diary, since it was unveiled in the attic where she had resided during the last years of her time, has been a classic book read worldwide, a compelling read reminding of the war and its horrors, being a tribute to humans. Through the occupation of Holland by the Nazi-Germans in 1942, the Jewish girl thirteen years of age and her family had to flee their home location in Amsterdam into hiding. With the next two years passing, the family lived secluded in what was called a “Secret Annexe”, being a building consisting of an old office. Facing hunger, boredom, and continuous brutality when having to live in enclosed quarters, they additionally experienced the continuous threat of death. Anne’s chronicle narrates her captivating interpretation of her experiences, of a lively young girl whose commitment had dreadfully been short-lived.

On June 12, 1929, Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany. In the summer of 1933, the Frank family moved out of Frankfurt, the women moving to Aachen and Otto Frank directly moving to Holland. However, due to her death, she thought this wasn’t possible,

May of 1945 marked the end of the second World War. Otto Frank, surviving the Holocaust, arrived in Amsterdam through travel routes. After the Gestapo had left the Secret Annexe after the Frank family had been found one year prior, Miep and Elli found Anne’s sketches and writings scattered on the ground. At first, Otto Frank had kept this as a memorial of the Frank family. However, a Professor of a nearby University had convinced him of the publishing of these writings.
