Evolution clearly shows how organisms develop and change as time moves forward. The theory of evolution presents the fact that all organisms are different in all kinds of ways, and that those who descend from another organism have slight variations. Natural selection is what builds up evolution, where organisms inherit traits passed down to them which helps them adapt to their environment and survive. This applies to the bird which my partner and I have created, containing such adaptations to be suitable to where it lives and how it lives. Therefore, my bird lives in the deciduous forest, nests in trees, and has developed long and agile wings.

First off, the deciduous forest is a very distinct environment and contains many different features. One of these features is that the deciduous forest contains various water sources. These sources include freshwater springs, ponds, lakes, as well as forest streams, rivers, and swamps. Another feature is the particular terrain that it has. There is fertile soil, flat ground, various layers/zones of plants, and many trees such as oak and maple. The deciduous forest is also known for its seasonal change, where leaves change color in autumn and trees lose their leaves during fall. The four specific seasons present are spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Finally, the adaptations of our bird would be compatible with this environment.

Next, one adaptation which our bird portrays is that it nests in trees. Being able to nest in trees helps the bird to adapt to its surrounding environment by hiding from predators very well, and also to increase its chance of surviving. The bird can therefore lay eggs and create offspring so that they would be able to pass on such traits. Once these eggs are laid safely, the bird can protect them from the conditions of the weather. The bird can also live freely without being secluded from the rest of the forest. Hence, living and nesting in trees has a great impact on the survival of our bird.

Lastly, developing long and agile wings is another adaptation which our bird acquires. Using its long and agile wings, it could fly up to where it lives in the tree hollows to protect itself from certain predators. These wings work very well in keeping the bird safe, both from predation and the harsh weather (like the rain). This wing type is also beneficial, since it helps the bird to fly with a greater ability. The shape of the wing is a bit curved which allows the bird to soar and glide through the air without difficulty. The great wing span allows for easy maneuvering as well. Finally, the size and shape of bird wings has a tremendous effect on its ability to fly.

In conclusion, our bird of the deciduous forest has very advantageous adaptations. The deciduous forest itself is a friendly environment and has many characteristics such as having a variety of water sources, a suitable terrain, and a change of seasons. Our bird also has some important adaptations which enables it to survive. It can nest in trees to protect itself from predators and is also able to live in the same area as they do. Another adaptation is developing long and agile wings, which allows for reaching the bird’s home and an enhancement of flight skills. Therefore, it can be taken into account that the environment of a bird can influence its adaptations greatly.
