Ted Bundy was more than just your average serial killer, Bundy was one of the most cold-blooded, and heartless humans to ever walk this earth. Even after being caught, Bundy continued to deny his killings for over 10 years but then later confessed to the killings of over 30 women and young girls in seven different states. Bundy's good looks made it easy for him to lure young women towards him leading them to their death. Bundy started to show a dark path in his personality and actions at a young age. He would break into cars and homes and took anything he wanted. With him being adopted to him not getting along with friends, this led Bundy to not having any close relationships later on in life. 1974 was the start of his murderous rampage. Between 1974 and 1978, Bundy confessed to 36 killings across several states. Some believe that his killing is closer to over 100 due to other findings that police could prove or disprove it was him. Today everyone knows of the killer Ted Bundy and some have labeled him “The Very Definition Of Heartless Evil” (Gabe Paoletti, 2017). Ted will always be apart of history because of his horrendous murders.

Some of Bundy’s murders were horrific and brutal compared to other serial killers. For Bundy to lured his victims, he would often pretend to be disabled by wearing a cast or being in a wheelchair. He would be moving heavy furniture and make it look like he needed help and with the case of many young women, they would offer to help. Their kindness to help would be their final mistake. When his victims would help him he would hit them across the head which would cause them to knock where he would then handcuff them and drive off. Bundy was called a control/power serial killer, meaning that he needs to be in control to feel pleasure that he so urgently needed. When killing his victims he liked how he could choose how fast or which way the would die. Bundy’s main reason for killing was not based just on lust but was used as how he could control his victims. Even after killing, Bundy would still sometimes have an interest in his deceased’s victim’s bodies by returning to have sex with them which helped him feel power over the body. This is why Bundy was responsible for killing many young women. He needed a continuing pleasure of power and control to feed his carving.

Ted Bundy was not any murder, he was smart, he never liked to used guns due to the loud sound and the traces they left behind. His IQ was above 130 which was shown to be true based on how successful he was in college. Mostly he would strangle his victims if the crowbar or hammer didn’t kill them right away. After they were dead and got his pleasure form them he would dispose of them in many different ways. He said that most of the bodies he would throw in a river or a canyon or even leave out in the open. Some bodies that police found were mostly skeletons but oddly enough some skeletons were not complete meaning that Bundy had removed body parts from victims. Although Ted Bundy only claimed to kill 36 people police have found other bodies that could be linked to more deaths. While after his murders Ted would often keep trophies such as jewelry and later give to a female friend. These trophies would remind Ted of his victims and keep his fantasy pleasure alive. This is the same as a dog when it catches its favorite toy, the dog when the return it to its owner. By keeping a personal item, it would bring his joy to return to his house or a friend. When ted gave a piece of jewelry to a friend and would later see them wearing it, it would be part of his game. He would fantasize about how he raped and killed to get it. Bundy even would say to himself “If she only knew that the necklace she is wearing came from someone I murdered.” This goes to show how his thought process worked and how his mind was different.

In the year 1974 Bundy was driving which he was then pulled over and police were able to arrest Bundy after learning of what he had in his car, which included crowbars and facemask. He was condemned and was sentenced to a 15-year jail term. After a couple of years, Bundy was somehow able to escape from prison twice, both in 1977. The second time, Bundy, who was acting as his lawyer in the case for murdering a colorado woman managed to escape out the car window but was caught later that week. Then in December of that year, police confirmed that Bundy escaped through an opening in the celling of his jail cell. They later found out that he had attack four girls in a sorority house at Florida State University. Informally he killed two of them. Ted Bundys last killing occurred on February 9th when he captured and murdered 12-year-old Kimberly Leach. This would be the last time Bundy would ever kill again. Bundy would then be pulled over by police that February.

As most people would consider him today, Ted Bundy had no sympathy or remorse for his killings. From the beginning, Ted never truly received the help he needed which eventually ended in destruction. The innocent lives that Ted took from this world will never be forgotten. Ted Bundy not only shocked America but changed the way we think of serial killers in today’s world.
