Before talking about the future of computers it is important to know of Moore's Law. Moore's law is the prediction that the number of transistors on a chip will roughly double every two years, as their cost goes down. Decades after this law was created, it still remains true and since transistors are essentially the "workhorses" of a computer, them being doubled means basically the computer processing power is doubled as well. Along with transistors, storage devices such as hard drives and memory are also on the rise of becoming bigger and faster every couple of years.

Technology has been advancing rapidly over the past 100 years with the constant creation of new designs constructed in order to simplify human life. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the creation of an artificially intelligent machine designed to function, react and perform tasks similar to human beings. The main problems faced with the creation of AI is programming computers to perform certain traits such as knowledge, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, learning, planning and the capability to manipulate and move objects. Applying common sense, logic and problem-solving potential in machines is a challenging and tedious task.

There have been many predictions of where the future of AI will lead us. Some have predicted that soon we will all become cyborgs and humans and computers will deliberately become a tightly cognitive unit. Humans would become a lot more productive if we could expand our brains with never extremely effective and accurate calculators and infallible memories. It is possible that soon, in the future the internet will be able to be accessed right through your brain. It is also likely that soon AI will be able to assist humans with implants making us better at everything. For example, say you lost a limb and now can't run or swim as fast anymore. In the future, AI may know how to control this robotic limb that would be now attached to you to allow to you be able to run and swim more effectively than ever.

This may also aid us once we grow old and feeble and are slowly losing our senses. AI can help retain your hearing and eyesight and perhaps exoskeletons will allow us to walk once we lose the strength to do that.

The invention of very intelligent AI can potentially help us solve a lot of our problems, such as climate change. AI could potentially be a powerful tool that intensifies human intelligence further guiding us to advance in all sorts of ways.AI may soon influence the way we socially interact. Even as of now, people show more comfort in communicating with people through technology whether it be by text or mobile rather than in person. As machines become smarter and are able to adapt to its users more efficiently people may end up favoring dealing with robots and machines over people.AI will likely also revolutionize the way we live and work. Considering computers are able to do almost any job just as well and even more efficiently than we do it is likely we will be seeing a lot of our jobs being lost to them. When self-driving cars or AI-based medical doctors become cheaper, why not convert all of these to smart computer programs sparing a few human specialists for very unique and rare cases. The ENIAC ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was the earliest electronic computer invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the University of Pennsylvania. It was designed and used for common purposes such as solving mathematical and numerical problems and used for the United States Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory to calculate artillery firing tables. It was built from 1943-1946. Despite the fact that it was not finished until World War II ended, it was designed to assist in the war facing German forces.

In 1953, a 100-word magnetic core memory was constructed by the Burroughs Corporation in order to provide the ENIAC with memory abilities. The ENIAC filled ~1,800 square feet by the end of its development in 1956. It was composed of nearly 20,000 vacuum tubes, 1,500 relays, 10,000 capacitors, and 70,000 resistors. It also consumed 200 kilowatts of electricity, weighed more than 30 tons, and cost approximately $487,000.
