The Grand Park Hotel Review

“The Grand Park Hotel, Jeddah is one of the recent additions to the 4-star category hotels in Jeddah city’s line-ups. Built and founded in the year 2014, the hotel boasts an advantage over other hotels in the same category by it’s location and other services (like all English-speaking staff, fascilities for the disabled, etc). Upon starting the Field Visit the hotel’s introduction was given by Mr. Khurram Zeeshan, Training Manager of The Grand Park. At a glance, Grand Park hosts a wide range of general features such as:

• Free Wifi
• 24-hour service
• Easy check-in/check-out
• Swimming Pool
• Fitness Centre/Gym
• Spa and Relaxation Centre
• Breakfast
• Food/Drinks
• Meeting Fascilities

The Grand Park is often the choice for many travelers coming from different cities and regions due to the highlights offered by the hotel targeted to the families and married audiences. These highlights provide a catch to the desires of make it the choice to get the hotel apart from other choices in the same category. Some of the highlights of this hotel are:

• A good placement of the location that makes it nearby to Jeddah’s largest mall; Mall of Arabia; by around 4 Kms.
• VIP amenities include a wide range of assorted treats which are: fruit basket, cookies, fresh juices, cakes & chocolates, drinks for anniversary/birthday occasions (non-alcoholic)
• Ability of the hotel to reserve the guests their hotel rooms based upon theme of either anniversary or birthday (for the married couples only). As such the room is decorated according to the request of the theme.
• Availability of free Wi-Fi to the residents of the Grand Park (very catchy)
• No worries on the arrival time for the passengers of late night flights; the hotel has a 24 hour service all round the clock.

Often there’s a seasonal contract during the summer season by a water park situated at Corniche, Jeddah where a shuttle service will go to and from the hotel and drop the families to the destination. This makes it easier for families to enjoy the weekend at ease without the worrisome of traveling all the way to the destination.

Good parking spots for the residents of the Hotel situated at the basement level for staying guests. And as for the guests of the banquet halls of the hotel there is ample parking space all around the hotel with easy access to the Qurayesh St. main road. As such no hassle is seen while parking around the busy life of the hotel.

The Grand Park would prove to be one of the top all-rounder family hotels currently present in the 4-star category in the city’s line-ups of the hotels. For those families with an eye towards living in the city with nearby access to the mall and other landmarks around, The Grand Park hotel offers a good advantageous spot for the ones keen on a busy lifestyle with its top services unmatched in timing of the response by the staff.

The positioning of the hotel according to Google Maps shows us how Grand park has quick access to almost many of the major attractions and landmarks. Towards the west is the beach and corniche area where highrise hotels and entertainment attractions are available including the Shatee’e Water park, Al-Shallal Theme Park, etc. Towards the North about 4-5 Kms is a straight main road that leads to the airport terminals and Mall of Arabia. Towards the South will take the families to the historical city of Jeddah. And finally towards the East will lead to the residential districts of the residents of the city.

It was highly important for the staff (including interns like me) to know exactly what type of cutomers we were to expect by learning the positioning of the hotel. We had to know the major tourist attractions available within the region and hence were there to help the families with the direction towards the attractions which they asked for. Often such families came during the vacations period and rarely during the Ramadan period. It was during the Eid season where families came en masse for the holidays.

The lobby area has been beautifully designed and built to match the modern aesthetics of the era. With its marble flooring and ambient bright lightings, it truly deserves a look and feel of a 4 star hotel category. The wide spacious area in the middle is the entry of the hotel with the reception facing the doorway opposite to the entrance of the hotel. The design and placement was to give the residents and guests a sense of awe and wonder when they step into the hotel to admire the perfect choice they have made.

Towards the right of this hallway is the lounge area. A set of sofas and a refreshment corner has been placed for the weary guests that arrive with their luggage in tow to rest while the rooms are being looked up and prepared. With the exquisite golden and off white colour combination, the place brings out a sense of royalty and kindness to the newcomers of the hotel. Down the hallway towards the left of the reception is where it splits into two ends, towards the right leads to the elevators for the residents of the hotel, and towards the left is where the banquet halls are present.

The recreational and relaxing facilities provided by the hotel include:

• Sun terrace

Which can be found on the first floor of the Hotel, easily approached by the lifts. The swimming pool is comparatively one of the small swimming pools at a hotel meant for relaxationsal purpose only. It’s not as wide or spacious, but good enough for a family to dip in and relax by leaning on the edges. It’s an outdoor swimming pool that is accessed by the opening on the 1st floor of the hotel.

There are seats with umbrellas attached to its structure for people to sit and relax under the warm sun. The ambient lighting of this place makes the weather less worrisome, as it sets the mood for a beautiful evening. La Terrace. A beautiful outdoor seating by the Grand Park Hotel. Situated at the top of the building, La Terrace offers the residents and guests a wonderful outdoor seating of relaxation and chill time for evening.
