ObamaCare promises to create all sorts of free benefits, but analysts claim that in the end, nothing is free. “’P. J. O’Rourke famously said that if you think heath care is expensive now, wait until it’s free,’ said Avik Roy, of the Manhattan Institute,” (Angle). These hidden expenses will come to the common man in the form of taxes. There will be taxes on insurance, drugs, and medical devices among other things. The Obama administration claims that one of the early benefits of the law are the free services. Not only do immunizations have to be cover, but cancer screenings and care as well (Angle).
ObamaCare will cost companies as well. Delta Airlines has said that the switch to ObamaCare will cost them at least $8 million in next year alone. That’s why analysts are saying that the new law is not free. Someone, somewhere, will have to pay for the ‘free stuff.’ And doctors are paying too. After every patient the doctor has, they get a reimbursement for the cost of care, but the reimbursement is less than the cost to provide the care; therefore, the doctors lose money by seeing patients (Angle).
The government telling doctors how much money they can use for care is much like the government telling a restaurant that they can only charge a certain price for a burger. "Let’s say you told them they can only charge $10.95 for that burger. But the cost of the beef, the bun, the vegetables, keeps rising. That squeezes their profit margins. Eventually they have no profit and they're losing money on producing that burger,” (Angle). The restaurant would then have no reason to sell the burger so they would stop producing it. This will be the case if ObamaCare is put into place. Eventually, there would be no more doctors to go to (Angle).
The United States Government should repeal ObamaCare. While ObamaCare sounds like a humanitarian effort, it will only increase taxes even more. ObamaCare will cost companies and in doing so, companies will most likely raise prices to reduce those losses. Companies also only have to pay for healthcare for full-time employees. To get around this, they will make many people work part-time instead of paying for ObamaCare. ObamaCare will raise prices for consumers and raise taxes for everybody. The United States Government should strike down ObamaCare before this mistake of a law goes into effect.
