The name of the group chosen is The American Indians(Hopi) also known as the “the oldest of people” by the Native American tribes. They regard themselves as the first inhabitants of America with the name Hopi, meaning a peaceful person or civilized person.

Place Of Habitation

The Hopis are natives of northwestern Arizona, where they and their ancestors have been living for thousands of years.

Type Of Housing

The Hopi people lived in adobe(clay) houses, which are multi-strong houses complexes made of clay and straw, baked into hard bricks and stones. Up to the early 1990s, many people live in houses constructed of modern materials. One of an American Indian housing settlement.

The Hopi people lived in compact villages, the population ranged from less than a hundred to most likely two thousand persons in 1850. It consisted of seven villages.

When it came to the dress code, the Hopis did not wear much clothing only breechcloths or short kilts(men’s skirts)The women wore knee-length cotton dresses (mantas)Missionaries did not think this dress style was modest enough, so in the 1900s, many Hopi women started wearing blouses underneath their mantas, which is still used today.

Trinidad's culture can relate to that of the Hopi in that, Trinidad was populated by several tribes. The Amerindians tribes were referred to by various names such as, yaio, Kalipuna, Garini, and Arauca. Trinidad’s Amerindians deployed part of a large regional island to island and island to mainland trading networks. The Amerindians invented the canoe, the bow and arrow. The cuisine included cassava bread, farine, wild meat, and corn pastel. A Hopi canoe was used as a means of transportation in the rivers.
