The importance of ethics in our daily life can not be overestimated. The significance of ethical behavior is seen at the underlying foundations of mankind. It is the establishment of a human progress. We as individuals are guided by our moral standards in the social orders we make. Virtue ethics and deontological ethics are the two ethical theories I decided to define. Deontological ethics is sometimes described as ‘duty-‘ or ‘obligation-‘ or ‘rule-‘ based ethics, because rules ‘bind you to your duty’. Ex: If you are Muslim you might believe it is wrong to eat pork, this would be apart of your deontology. I’m ma veteran so I feel everyone should stand for the national anthem. That’s my own example of the deontology theory. This theory also continues to guide most of my decisions in everyday life. From what’s acceptable and not acceptable in my everyday life. Virtue Ethics (or Virtue Theory) is an approach to Ethics that emphasizes an individual’s character as the key element of ethical thinking, rather than rules about the acts themselves (Deontology) or their consequences. For example, it is virtuous to be brave when faced with physical confrontation. However, it is a vice if you are over enthusiastic to fight, and also a vice if you are too cowardly to fight when it is needed. I have several experiences where I felt this theory played a major role. One that comes to mind is 10 years ago when walking down a Chicago street I noticed a few teens robbing anolder man. My instincts naturally made me intervene and I feel this was a perfect example of someone being virtuous.
We require ethics since persuasion incorporates not just the inspiration and capacity of the receiver to process the message and shape judgment yet, in addition, their obligation regarding searching out data that demonstrates or discredits what is offered to them in a persuasive message. In the event that the two gatherings are not considered responsible for persuasion, at that point no persuasion is effective. Considering persuasion from an ethical outlook changes how we see the process, and how we persuade. It reclassifies the old persuasion into one that proposes that in the event that we wish to transform others through communication, we should be considered responsible and do it on an even playing field. In the event that trickery is permitted to enter the playing field then persuasion progresses toward becoming something that would annihilate the moral establishment for which human advancements are made. Responsibility on the two sides is the new face of persuasion. This is the reason I trust persuasion as a positive, ordinary event is such an extreme pill to swallow. We must be dependable and responsible.
Ethics enable us to convey appropriately, truly, and with respect. A persuasion is an important tool of communication and with ethical standards, it can be utilized legitimately. Ethics are the establishment of a civilized society, ethical conduct is essential to influence since it takes into account communication to occur in a compassionate way, and its hugeness is set apart by the advancement of a communication flow that has been perfected and considered for quite a long time.
