A world is made up of societies, societies are made up of groups, and groups are made up of individuals also known as people. People who share basic purposes or objectives or goals would form a group, and this event is what creates the so-called solidarity – the sense of belongingness in a group. In other words, solidarity is a bond in a society/neighborhood/group/family that keeps people connected in some way or the other. Sp the importance of solidarity is discussed in this essay.

Solidarity is an important part for any society, as well for any community. The feeling of solidarity was basic for keeping up peace and unity inside smaller communities as well as for guaranteeing agreement and assuaged association between other various communities. The idea of a community implies finding a zone of solidarity in the middle of the huge variety of societies, and finding a common language or set of values that make us human. From a moral point of view, solidarity is as a matter concentrated on offering help to the individuals who need it. Solidarity creates a place wherein common help is empowered; a place where human rights can be regarded and sustained. The capacity to perceive and acknowledge the entire scope of comparing obligations and commitments that are installed in our social nature can happen just in an atmosphere by solidarity. Human solidarity is established on shared regard of one another’s uniqueness, and a profound feeling of energy about our basic mankind – that we are people with characteristic self-esteem. Social solidarity is used to symbolize a general public that has its individuals seeking after social interests rather than singular interests. Solidarity is one of the all-inclusive and major qualities, one of the newest human rights on which universal relations ought to be based with the goal that every person has an equal benefit in life. It is a quality that depends on correspondence, incorporation and social equity and that involves a common responsibility and commitment among the different individuals from society and the community.

As described by Durkheim, solidarity is divided into mechanical and organic solidarity. In a society that displays this so-called mechanical solidarity, people feel a connection through the similar work they do, the religion they practice, the education they have, and this associates us that such solidarity could be found in traditional families, and smaller communities. By saying mechanical solidarity is found in traditional families, we can assume then that the organic solidarity is an individual’s need for another one’s help or service. As we mentioned in class, we have solidarity as an instrumental value and solidarity as a moral value. By analyzing closely, we could make a strong connection between this and Durkheim’s theory. We said that solidarity as an instrumental value is a solidarity of self-interest; the self-interest of individuals motivates them to corporate which could be connected to the organic solidarity. This leaves us with solidarity as a moral value and mechanical solidarity. Solidarity as a moral value is based on groups of people taking care of each other, and looking out for each other, similar as in mechanical solidarity.

Solidarity is realizing how to carry on with individuals; it’s a type of social conduct to make attachment and social ties that join the individuals from an organization with one another. I think that solidarity varies for each individual and everybody’s experience is different. Some may discover solidarity when they work with individuals; others may discover solidarity in listening to different experiences. I think it could be said that solidarity is an art of learning how to work with people inside your community as well as with people outside your community, and also learning to appreciate the differences every individual has in himself or herself. Solidarity requires every one of us to cross examine ourselves on a significantly more personal level, to address and consider our ways of life and living decisions, and to recognize and perceive our own complicity in worldwide structures of imbalance. Solidarity is used to help with testing our view of people as wares or instruments to propel our very own advantages – and to, rather, see each other as neighbors, companions, and partners. Solidarity is anticipating that ourselves should consider those in places of intensity responsible for their choices, choices that eventually sway underestimated networks all over the place. When we begin to ask ourselves and our communities these extreme inquiries, when we hold both ourselves and our social orders to account, we would then be able to start to activate and really endeavor towards an all the more simply world. So as to move from a top-down association with poor people, one in which we see the poor as essentially uninvolved beneficiaries of our guide, to one that is flat, in which every single person merit nobility, we have to remain in solidarity and in modesty with each other.
