Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” explores the profound act of “The forcefulness of love” throughout the play. The two lovers fate and its Inevitability play an extremely powerful role throughout the story. In its first statement to the audience Shakespeare applies that Romeo and Juliet are star cross lovers or as society would announce this action of love at first site. With the feud between the two lovers’ families, shows how fate is displayed in this century. Although this hatred is never explained, the feud between the two families must be excepted by the reader as a definite characteristic of the play. The tremendous event that is the timing of Romeos suicide and Juliet’s awakening still remains the most uncontrollable event of fate. This theme is shown in multiple movies in the ‘film the best of me’. The comparison of fate is portrayed in this film as the loves are drawn back together after several years as if it is intended to be. This shows its deliberate occurrence throughout both acts as these events are not coincidental, but rather manifestations of the inevitability of fate that lead to the lovers’ future. The similarity between the two objectives shows the impact that Shakespeare has on today’s society but also its relevance on numerous films throughout the 21st century.

Love, a variety of feelings or emotions for another. For some it is more than a physical attachment it is an emotional attachment. Love is the overriding theme of the play Romeo and Juliet. The forcefulness of love constructs an impact on people in the 21st century as this theme is still a reliable factor in society today. The forcefulness of love is revealed in the play Romeo and Juliet by creating love as its dominant and most interpreted theme. There is no honest suggestion on how relationships should be portrayed in the film but rather influences chaos and passion of being in love. Although this may seem to be an outcast affair, people still to this day are treated and forced into marriage and love by others. This specific theme is still an important factor in today’s society. An example of this theme is also represented in the film ‘the best of me’. The two lovers are drawn apart by tragedy but happen to find themselves back together but this would involve complications including marriage and the differences in their social standing. Although there were many domestic issues comprising the two lovers, they would end up finding themselves coming over that obstruction even if it took a lifetime. Therefore, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet depict an overruling theme that is the forcefulness of love and its relevance to today’s society as shown in the film ‘the best of me’.
