I have been fortunate enough to have both my parents in my life, but I believe my dad has been the most influential person in my life. I think that he has been able to guide me through my life in the best way he knows how. My dad has used his intelligence and wisdom to guide me through my school life. He helped me learn what has become one of my favorite hobbies in being involved with sports. He got my started in soccer and from there I went to basketball and found my love of sports. Although I no longer play basketball, I love watching Carolina play with my dad and the Carolina-Duke game is almost as big as the Super Bowl. My dad has helped me understand what it meant to be a man. He taught me to always hold doors for women and let others go before me. One of the biggest lessons he taught me is that I am third. God always comes first and others are second. I should be the last person I’m concerned with. My dad constantly reminds me that I shouldn’t burn bridges. Whenever he goes out, he seems to find an old childhood friend and they reminisce over the good times they used to have. When I get older I want to be able to have those friends to talk to about how things were in the past whilst describing our childhood antics. All of these qualities make up the person I look up to in my dad.
