The Influence of Technology on My Career Choice as a Physician Assistant in The Medical Field

Change is inevitable and society is changing all the time. It happens every day and it will continue to happen forever. The only thing that we can do is try to change along with it. Over the next twenty-five years, technology is predicted to contribute greatly to major roles in our society. Instead of humans doing all of the work, technological advances will aid our work and put us at ease. This introduction of technology with affect my intended career as a Physician Assistant in the medical field and also domino to other aspects of society. There are ways to adapt to these fast coming changes. We just need to be ready.

In the medical field, there is already a lot that you need to know how to do and a lot to learn. There are new findings every day that you need to be aware of to perform your job to your best ability. With all of the technology that we already have today it is hard to think that there could possibly be much more to come. Information processing, record keeping, financing, and even patient care are all being affected. You need to be able to use this new technology to make you stand out in your career. New advances will put older medical roles in the dust; not to mention new drugs that will most likely be developed. Any kind of disease or sickness should have a drug to cure it and an individual working with these needs to be educated.

What a young aspiring PA like myself can do is stay aware and keep my education progressing. You need to stay ahead of the game. As a result of growing technologies, more jobs should be expected to open up as old jobs are left in the past. It is simply preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. To prepare, one can reach out to their employers for additional training and education. If you are working with a company, they should provide you with the training you need to keep up. You could also look for additional education. There are plenty of PA programs around that will offer up to date education.

Computer skills for the future are also going to be a necessity when it comes to applying for a job. Computers are going to be the main component of all jobs. Maybe if it all seems like too much you might want to think about completely changing your goals. If technology has torn your career apart, you might want to look elsewhere if you aren’t happy.

Not only will this change affect my anticipated career field, it will affect many other careers and society as a whole. Real estate agents will see a decrease as more and more families will be using a web viewing software to tour houses. Toll booth operators are quickly disappearing as it doesn’t take much skill to collect money in passing.

I guess what you can see from this is that most jobs that don’t take much skill will soon be replaced by machines or software. As seen in the past, machines of mass production have taken over the process of the assembly line. Today is all about being the most efficient. I do not see technology slowing down. One thing that we all think about when it comes to change is the environment. Everyday it takes a hit and soon enough we will be seeing the affects of an uncared for setting. Something needs to be done so that we can preserve our lives for the future and technology can be a big help in this process.

Technology could also affect the unity or separation of our nations. If we want to progress together through the future, we need to do it together. More brains, means more help to get to where we want to be. Technological advances have the potential to sky rocket our capabilities. Together the environmental problems could come to a halt, or our businesses could figure out a compromise to benefit all economies in the world.

With technology predicted to accelerate in the next twenty-five years, just about every aspect of life is expected to be affected. Every job will have some sort of technology associated with it. Our children are going to grow up with a childhood full of computers instead of bikes and grass. It is just how life will be and we need to accept it. The only way that we can move on is to keep pushing and familiarize ourselves for what is to come. The future is a scary place especially if you are unprepared for it.
