Transformation, when people hear that word most people think of something that relates to fear. When I hear transformation I think about those old cheesy werewolves movies. Fear has deep ties to transformation some examples are old as Dracula,a normal human turned blood sucking killer, to as new as “The Nun” a priestess turned psychotic killer entity. There are stories like the “Wendigo” that have little to no transformation and are still good. No matter the times transformation can be pivotal in bad or good horror story. When I was tiny, around six to sevenish, my family had a boxer as pet and I really liked to annoy it which most out every time did not end well. Each and every time I would get bit but I didn't care apparently because each time I got bit I went in again, until the boxer passed away. Every time we had dog that was big or medium I tried to annoy it until I got bit no matter the transformation of the dog it still got my blood pumping and fear running in my veins. I still have a lot of the scares still on my face from will I got into brawls with on of my shar pei and it would scratch me and nip and every where it could.
To be fair it didn’t matter if it was real animal or a fake one from I would have probably tried to fight it. The Wendigo a monster of fiction fear is literally written on its face it our neighbor upstairs monster. What is most frightening about it is it’s a freak of nature and shouldn't exist. This just some of the horrifying detail people have come up for it ” I stole you off, a huge thing in my bustling armor. ” Even though it’s not obvious at first the transformation of the windigo is that one that we give it with our imagination. Even though it is just a work a fiction it can inspire fear.
No matter if the monster we afraid of is real or not they have something in common the can cause unbritel terror. Weather your fearless and charge head first into the jaws of fear or you hide in a corner and start to break down the same thing will go through your head. “I wonder how things will turn out”. But even the most straightforward stories and the most exhilarating roller coaster of a story will have a transformation even if it’s the most minutiae detail it will be there. In the end transformation is really tool of fear and if one can master it they can make a truly horrifying story.
