Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. Is one of the many inspirational quotes from Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa was also called Saint Teresa of Calcutta dedicated her time to caring for the poor and sick. Mother Teresa put aside her personal and emotional desires to help the sick and poor and with her hard work established the hospice; center for the blind, elderly and handicapped; and the leper colony. In 1979, she won the Nobel Peace Award for her humane study.
Mother Teresa's, life is a story of love, sacrifice, and hope. She was born in 1910 in Macedonia to the parents of Albanian descent. At only 18, she decided to dedicate herself to God’s work and become a nun in 1928. She joined the Sisters of Loreto. For the next 13 years of her life, she worked at St. Mary’s High School in Calcutta, India. She left the school to start helping the poor. While helping the poor, she grew to find for children and 1957, she opened up her first orphanage in India. With her love of helping her and the poor established Missionaries of Charities.
Mother Teresa never stopped for 'her' needs. In 1946, she was suspected to have tuberculosis and was told to rest. Instead, she decided to serve the poorest of the poor. In 1984, Pope Pius XIII granted her permission to leave Sisters of Loreto so she could work with the poor. Instead of looking different than other people in India, Mother Teresa wore the same things as the poor and stayed when there was an area opened. Mother Teresa was known for house builder because she helped build many houses in Calcutta during her service.
One of the most astonishing establishments that she developed was the center of AIDS in 1985. Like she had done all her life, she put people before her own safety to help them when no one else would. With all her hard work, other missionaries began to swarm her to help her work. She had missionaries all over the world and using her key idea and helping everybody no matter any conditions or illnesses brought more love and hope in many communities. In 1997 Mother Teresa’s health was beginning to deteriorate but that did not stop her she worked until she was unable to anymore. In 1997 she had over 4,000 workers in over 120 countries. On September 5.1997 she finally met her creator.
For approximately 69 years Mother Teresa put her feelings aside to help others. She worked in unsafe conditions and was treated unfairly by my people. With her pushing her personal needs aside she was able to create missionaries, hospitals, orphanages, and medical helper centers. This is why I chose Mother Teresa as someone famous because she did extraordinary work and because of that people of an example to follow.
