Introduction

Human society has been succeeding for thousands of years. In the past century though, the people that have been succeeding are the ones that can be classified as immoral. Look at any political government official, famous people from Hollywood, or even children in our education systems and you will see the moral people being left behind with the unethical charging ahead. A question though that can be considered is what success can be defined as.

Discussion

Culture of the 21st century can put it down to 'power, money, and fame.' Though each person can define it in their own way, I will define it as accomplishments and how far you can get in life. Sometimes the moral people in the world cannot make truly hard decisions because of the immoral consequences that are there. This gives people with immorality an advantage in that they are able to make the hard decisions. If we look at any U.S. president during wartime, we can see many examples of that.

Especially during the World Wars. Jacob Beser, apart of the Army Air Forces during WWII, said that 'War, by its very nature, is immoral.' During that time Harry Truman was in office and wanted the war to be over. To do this he warned Japan that they would bomb one out of 3 of their major cities if they didn't surrender. Japan didn't, and so Truman sent a team with the atom bomb nicknamed 'Enola Gay' and bombed Hiroshima.

Later they again bombed Japan because they wouldn't surrender. This time they bombed Nagasaki using 'Boxcar'. Members of the squad that dropped the bombs would later say that 'they had no regrets about dropping the bomb' because it saved many U.S. troops. The president was able to finish the second war of the World Wars and saved many lives from being able to take the hard immoral action. This event put Truman in the history books and became successful where moral citizens would have failed.

The 21st-century society tries to imitate many people. We try to imitate famous people from our history, people from our classes that sits two seats away, or more commonly famous people today. The pop culture we have today is full of immoral people reaching success. Many of them didn't get there though through moral means. Look at Kim Kardashian, she and her family have become international icons. Though their start isn't very pretty. 'Kim Kardashian never went to college', yet she is one the topmost richest people in the world (How Did Kim Kardashian Became Famous?) (sic).

There are people out there that have gone to college for 6 years, yet they don't make nearly a fourth of what Kardashian makes. Our society has our youth wanting to emulate immoral people that overshadow the hardworking moral ones. That is a scary thought for our future as a whole because it is teaching them that it is fine and expected to do immoral actions to reach the success that everyone wants.

Not only has immortality gone to the things we are trying to resemble, but it has also gone to our public education too. Our school systems are based on testing that unfairly shows if we can advance to a higher grade or not. Children 'will want to do everything possible to pass each and every exam'. Some students that try and get into good colleges will cheat in the entrance exam without putting in the work there but will work in the actual classroom. How is that fair to the ones that rightfully worked to earn that spot, but they don't get it because someone cheated their way into it.

It is not, the morally right people get pushed back into the background and pick up the pieces, while the immoral ones get to run along ahead into their bright future. What does that say about our future and society? Yes, there are times that morality triumphs over immorality, like the end of slavery, or Mother Teresa's life, but in the majority, we can see that when people are immoral they are generally more successful than those that are moral.

It can be easily seen that the society of the world is regressing, regressing to a point that hasn't been seen before on Earth. The people on it are getting split into two different groups: morally correct people, and immorality. So far the latter is raging ahead in success, it is true to say that they are pushing our world even farther down its destructive path. Our political leaders, the ones that are obsessed with themselves and power, are the ones that are in charge and have reached success and are guiding our world. Our youth are being influenced by what they see on social media and on TV.

Though what they are influenced by aren't the greatest role models. Those people online are influencing the youth to make similar choices to them which will affect our future. It already is by having students push ahead with anything at their exposal. The ones that are doing this are the ones that will lead our world in the future instead of the ones that will do right by it.
