It’s funny how we interrupt stories to our daily life and we relive them in our own mind and we become the hero and the villain and Saki does that the best in the interlopers and especially in the conflicts of the story.
In my opinion the main conflict in the interlopers is the conflict between the two foes (Ulrich and Gorge) and there inherited rivalry and when the tree falls on them it only makes it worst and feeds into their anger however this conflict gets resolved in the story, the reason behind my opinion is that without this conflict the whole story falls apart and this conflict is what drives the story and is the main fuel for it.
The other very important conflict that we might go through in our everyday life is the psychological warfare that Ulrich fights against himself in the story, he starts by hating and wanting to kill his foe but this changes slowly throughout the story and when Ulrich when he figured out that he can’t survive unless he puts the bad blood away and he does that so we learn that the human survival instinct could be stronger than any hatred and how many times throughout our life we look away on a rivalry just because we might need something from our enemy or our interest cross path.
The third and the last major conflict is the conflict that happens after the climax that teams up Georg and Ulrich against nature and here Saki shows us the importance of a story’s setting and how much it could change and effect the story and the characters and at the end of the story Saki gives us another lesson about the nature and that is what nature give it could get away as well and here we see that nature could be a two faced coin, while it helped resolving the two foes conflict it might be the reason of their doom.
There is a minor conflict in this story that starts from the start of the story and stays all around the story and the 2 individuals against their conscious and the society and how would people think about a cold blooded murder and how there life going to be titled as murders and they realize at the time of civilization you can’t just go and kill people in cold blood.
The interlopers is an amazing story because of the conflicts in it and how Saki gives a spotlight to every conflict and makes the reader to reflect the story conflict to their everyday life.
