The Role of The Native American Flute in The American Culture

The American culture is engraved in an assortment of cultures, religious practices, and the new generation of the global citizenship perspective. Music is one important area, where various cultures have merged to bring out a unique fusion that truly reflects American aspirations. The Native American flute is one such instrument that brought so many changes and in terms of musical arrangements, choreography, and the feeling of the music. The flute has become one of the most sorts after the traditional musical instrument that adds value to music. 

The history of the American flute is inscribed in folklore, where the music in the mythical era was a valued part of society. It is a wonderful instrument that is held by a hand, where the player blows into the mouthpiece hole. The compressed air is forced out of the tiny holes that are controlled by the hand. The outlet holes all have a distinct sound, whereby controlling the air out creates musical notes, and only a skilled player can make sense of the notes and produce wonderful music. It is believed that the rhythmic sounds produced by the flute were developed between 1.5 and 7 million years ago, where humans were inspired by the sound of nature like birds of the air and other animals that would produce such sounds. Over the years, the flute became a melodic instrument that would be used in various ceremonies conducted by the native people therein. The oldest flutes were found in modern-day Germany and France that were dated to be about 33,000 to 43,000 years ago. 

In America, the natives have been using the flute for a time that historians have never been able to unravel. Nonetheless, the flute formed part of the musical journey that is evident today. Over the years, the native American flute has gone through transformation stages, where it has become a dependable instrument aiding musicians to come up with good music. It is stated that the first ethnographic recording of the flute was made in 1890 when Newell Joseph was reciting the snake song. It was Jesse Walter, who recorded the music with a recording technology that was devised by Thomas Edison. Ever since the flute has been part of American music as an important instrument that adds the much-needed feeling of the music. 

The Native American flute has been used for many roles such as in meditation, courtship, and even healing. When played, the flute produces almost the same notes that are produced by the piano, meaning that the flute played a pivotal role in coming up with piano notes. In as much as the piano produces the same notes as the flute, there are many people who still prefer the flute while making music. It is a wonderful tradition of music that when played, the musical sound can take one into a deep meditation and peace of mind, which is essentially the meaning of music under the native American flute. It's dated back thousands of years ago when I think about the Native American culture. It dates back to the indigenous people who currently lived in the area of North America. In the past, the Native American culture was involved in revolving around nature, and all aspects were linked to the earth. 

The U.S. native tribes were engaged in worshiping animals as gods and were also engaged in slaughtering them for clothing and food. They didn't waste any part of the animals as they would eat the meat, wear the hides and skins, and also make tools out of the bones. Native Americans were in the entire population before the settlers came to the United States. At the time, indigenous Americans made up 100% of the population. They currently make up only 1 percent of the population as a whole. Different languages in America have been combined to form different tribes of people. This form of cultural heritage has deteriorated as it currently stands. The 'Indian removal' was the policy drafted because many Indians were involved in the migration to the US. In this move, they were pushed to the low agricultural value lands. They weren't used to this, though. At that time, Native American children were forced to go to boarding schools. 

Native American deflation has been a difficult task to consider. Not only because of the customs and beliefs that define America's historical population, but because of the fact that Native Americans have a diverse population, this was the reason. Native American culture consists of different tribes and beliefs. Because of Native American diversity, therefore, the definition of culture is based on common issues other than focusing on the specific traditions of different groups. The Native Americans, therefore, share similar spirituality in terms of spirituality and believe in the same God. Therefore, religion differs because spirituality is not similar to religion. Some of the Native American tribes believe in the same God while others believe in the spirits that guide them through the different systems of beliefs. Consequently, most of the celebrations and religious ceremonies that take place are mainly to thank God for what he has done to the tribes and the people.
