Creating dentures or crowns are in need of geometry. Geometry deals with lengths, area and volume and in dentistry, this would provide precise information that the practitioner is concerned to. In this paragraph, geometry specifically tackles the creation of dentures and crowns. Using the angle properties, postulates and theorems, the resulting form of the dentures and crowns will be near perfection.
Bacteria commonly found in our mouth feeds on the sugar and other nutrients that we intake every time. This bacterium that belongs to an ecosystem in our mouth called “human oral microbiome” occupies a big part. Their life cycle mainly includes feeding and multiplying. But some are pathogenic and cause tooth decay and other damages that they can inflict not just on the teeth but to the gums as well. Most of these bacteria multiply in a binary fission meaning it splits into two newly born bacteria. The scientists have found out that we can predict its population by using third order differential equation. Third order differential equation opens up for multitude of possible discoveries like finding out what could a small population of bacteria could do to be compared with a larger population of the same specie or experimenting things waiting for the unprecedent to unfold.
Patterns in nature are ubiquitous. The beauty of flower, the spiral pattern of the snail’s shell, the wings of a butterfly, the symmetry of the starfish and many others exhibit patterns that give the viewer a sense of order that radiates from within. The formation of the teeth also displays a pattern known as the Golden proportion. Golden proportion is a simple yet fascinating that contains two quantities with the ratio having the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities according to wikipedia. Many great minds spent countless hours to study its properties and to this day, its application is evident in various field and in the world of dentistry, it earns its special place in orthodontics. Orthodontists fix the irregularities of the teeth and jaws. It deals with the occlusion and alignment. The golden proportion became the basis of a natural and perfect smile. It shows that the width of the central incisor is in the golden proportion to the width of the lateral incisor. Similarly, the lateral incisor is in the same golden proportion to the canine and is in the Golden Proportion to the first premolar.
Calculation has been one of the fundamentals for producing desirable results and predicting the outcome. It creates solutions that would otherwise be unavailable if it were not for its precision and accuracy. Removing it and might as well as all math related, there will only be myriads of conundrum, as the saying goes “For the things of this world cannot be made known without a knowledge in mathematics” by Roger Bacon shows that we can only get so far without it.
