In media analysis, a variety of features and elements are considered to impact the film production in a variety of ways. Every production feature is designed to serve a specific function and to make the film much communicative on the intended message. Similarly, every element is made to meet a target listener or viewer in the media production (Juan-José & Casanova 296). Characters are the main component of the entire production in most cases. This is because, without characters, there cannot be filming since they are used to communicate or demonstrate the message of the production. Two characters will be accredited in this discussion as they discuss matters regarding music production industry, marriage, and politics. For instance, in a filmed interview between two or more individuals may require courage and confidence alongside other traits in expressing the message.

In the "The New York Times" film, Dean Baquet interviews Jay-Z about music concerns, marriage, and politics in America contributing much to the viewers through expressing his perception about the discussed matters. Jay-Z is a rapper and music mogul, and Dean Baquet is The New York Times's executive editor, and they engage in a discussion through a filmed interview to know much about the rapper’s personal life and political perception. First of all, the two characters have maintained decency in their dressing styles to attract the attention of the viewers that goes hand in hand with whatever business has collected them together. Unlike in the music dressing styles, Jay-Z has maintained a presentable dressing code during the interview since he is an international musician and very famous and therefore, his dressing depicts the respect he has for the official interviewer in the broadcasting TV (The New York Times).

Besides, The New York Times's executive editor, Dean Baquet is officially dressed since he interviews a publicly and internationally watched television channel which requires him to be in a formal clothing. Besides, the characters contribute to the overall production positively through their communication skills. For example, Jaz-Y is always straightforward when asking the interview questions to enhance consistency and to show how competent he regards his career. In the questions regarding his music career, the interviewee responds quite efficiently and ensures direct eye contact with the interviewer to ensure that everything he speaks is well thought. Effective media production requires creative characters as well to make the listeners and viewers more engaged and interested in viewing. For instance, in this case, I feel that watching this film cannot make one bored regardless of the number of repeated watching times. This is because of the depicted elements of production and more specifically the acting creativity (The New York Times).

The creativity expressed in Jay-Z’s popular music is as well demonstrated in the interview, and this is what the viewers expected attracting a variety of positive comments behind the YouTube video as consequently. Dean’s questions also depict the real personality of an interviewer and a journalist (James 194). This makes the entire film much interesting based on their intelligence. In their conversation, differing in some matters and questions does not make the conversation a failure because they understand emotional intelligence and therefore such traits also make the film much enriching. The two characters make the entire production much interesting and educative based on their communication skills, dressing codes, creativeness, and personality traits in the demonstration of the key message.
