The Place to Go When You Crave a Fancy Meal and Atmosphere

When choosing a restaurant to eat at, most people consider service, environment, cleanliness, and obviously, the food that is served. To write one of the descriptive essays about a place I chose to describe one of my favorite places to eat. Olive Garden is a restaurant that has great qualities in all of these categories, plus so much more. This restaurant has been around for over 30 years, and is still thriving with customer count. It is perfect for families or people of any age. I have been there many times with my family. Sometimes, we’ll go to celebrate birthdays. Other times we just go when we want a good meal, which we know we will always get at Olive Garden.

One important quality that a restaurant should always focus on is their atmosphere and environment. Olive Garden is able to have beautiful decor, while also focusing on the Italian theme and keeping that in consideration with their decorations. The entire restaurant has a peaceful and calming atmosphere, starting right when you walk in. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the design of everything there. The walls are painted with vines on them, and the lighting is perfect enough to see, but not be blinding. The plates and silverware are very nice as well.

The quality of food is of course the most important quality when it comes to a restaurant. Olive Garden exceeds all other Italian restaurants by a mile with their food quality. They have amazing culinary techniques and recipes. More than 1,200 of their chefs and managers come from their own Culinary Institute of Tuscany where they indulge in their passion of Italian cooking. It is obvious that their chefs really know what they are doing and put their best effort into every dish that they make. My favorite thing to order is the fettuccine alfredo pasta. It is so creamy and delicious. You also have the option to put chicken or steak on it. Olive Garden’s menu has a ton of variety. Appetizers, soups and salads, entrées, and desserts all have something that will interest you no matter what you do or don’t like.

The next quality to look at for a restaurant would be the service quality. Since everyone is different, I can’t say that it has been perfect every time, but I can say that almost every time I have been there, I have had great service. The hosts are accurate at how long the wait is, and kindly bring you to your seat once the wait is up, while asking how you’re doing. The servers are very knowledgeable with the menu, and the restaurant. They are always able to answer any questions, and quickly bring out refills for the breadstick baskets, which everyone loves to munch on before their meal. They bring the food in a timely manner, clear empty plates, and often check on you to see if you need anything. Sometimes the managers will walk around and ask people how everything is going, which is very nice to know that they are taking time to make sure their customers are happy.

One last quality to look for in a restaurant is the cleanliness. No one wants to go to a restaurant that is dirty and has employees and customers that do not clean up after themselves. Olive Garden is always as clean as it can be. The floor is never dirty and there are never crumbs left on the table. The employees bus the tables as soon as the customers leave so there are not dirty tables just sitting there. They handle the food with good care and make sure there is nothing in the food that is not supposed to be there.

I would give Olive Garden a 10, on a scale from 1 to 10. This place is great whether you’re with family, or out on a nice date, or just with some friends. The only negative about Olive Garden that I would have would be their pricing, as it is a bit expensive. The food is definitely worth the price though. I would recommend Olive Garden to anyone that enjoys Italian food, as it is most definitely my favorite place to go when I want a fancier meal.
