Pregnancies are special and a blessing from God. Almost 4 million babies are born each year, many coming from teen mothers. Peer pressure, the addition of more federal aid for single parents, and poverty and broken homes are major causes for the country’s high rate of teen pregnancies. Many guys have a persuasive way over many young girls who are young, vulnerable and feel pressured to fit in or to make friends. Peer pressure happens when people try to convince one to do something that is detrimental or damaging to their body. Teen girls are pressured everyday and eventually they give into peer pressure and have sex. These girls go into sex blindley not knowing the possible risk of stds and pregnancy.

Some girls are thrented and pressured into having sex leading to unwanted pregnancies and unwanted abortions. Girls often feel as if they do not have a choice over their body and what happens to it. In reality a woman has every choice of what they want to do with themselves. A guy might say that he loves a girl because he knows she is young and wants to be loved just so he can persuade her into having sex. Teens often feel they do not need protection such as condoms or birth control. With all the peer pressure girls receive from guys they forget that they actually can get pregnant. All it takes is one time and ones whole world can come crashing down. The addition of more federal aid plays a tremendous part in teen pregnancies. Many teens get kicked out their house when the parents find out about their pregnant.

Teens often do not have money for abortions so they are forced to keep the child. Age also plays a part in abortions because you have to be 18 years or older in many states. Federal Aid gives teens backbone and makes them feel more secure about their decision to have children. Some teens think with the mentality of an adult. They know they can not abort the child so they rely on federal aid to help them out. Federal Aid provides you with anything you may need to take care of the child. Some teens get pregnant just because they need more money not thinking about having a whole other mouth to feed. There needs to be enlarged finance for inclusive sex education programs that uplift abstinence also educating teens about protection. This could stop many pregnancies that are happening in society today.

Teen pregnancies are in a way looked up upon in the U.S. Many movies portray a happy teen pregnant. No one shows the struggle and hassle involved with federal aid with teen pregnancies. Poverty and broken homes are extreme contributors to teen pregnancies. When a family has no money and are struggling to make ends meet the family gets desperate. Young teens start to do whatever they can to help. As bad as it sounds they often sell their bodies. While doing so teens contrap many STD’S and ultimately, get pregnant. Contraception is rarely used in situations like these. Broken families without a male figure often have many problems. Teens lack guidance and try to find their own way of life. Girls who lack a father figure do not often have to worry about the backlash of pregnancies. They feel as if they have no real authority. Many teen girls lack love from families, so they get pregnant on purpose so the baby will love them. I’ve personally met someone who wanted to feel needed and loved so she sought out to get pregnant disregarding the consequences.

The lack of a supportive family leads teens down the wrong path to failure. Structure and guidance starts at home and ultimately shapes the child. Peer pressure, the addition of more federal aid for single parents, and poverty and broken homes are major causes for the country’s high rate of teen pregnancies. Teen pregnancies are very common and are growing fast. Life will go on and babies will be born regardless of the age of the mother.
