Although they are very young, the responsibility of securing their future has been given solely to students. They receive guidance from parents and teachers but most of the work must be done by them. Therefore, to be able to fulfil their responsibility, there are a lot of qualities that they should have and these qualities will be discussed in this essay.
Firstly, an ideal student should be a good listener. It is through listening that one can interpret things better. After all, a baby starts talking after hearing what is being said around him. If students start paying attention to what the teacher says in class, then it will become easier for them to grasp what is being explained. They can also easily point out what they are not able to understand and ask for clarification. If students do not listen carefully when teachers are explaining, they will not understand the explanation and will not even realize where they should improve in order to have good marks.
Also, an ideal student should be ambitious. They must have an idea what they want to become when they grow up and gradually place their interest in subjects that are relevant to their career choice. For example, if a student wants to be a doctor, he has to place in more effort in the science subjects to secure his marks. If students have no idea what they want to become in life, they will be at a loss because they will have difficulty in choosing their subjects later on. And they will not know where to place in more focus and attention.
Moreover, an ideal student should be curious and hard-working. Students should not limit their knowledge to what is being taught in class and to what the examination requires them to learn. They should be open to learn world affairs and other life skills such as reading newspapers, playing crosswords to learn new words and so on. They must also aim the best mark and work to achieve these marks.
In a nutshell, it can be seen that an ideal student should be a good listener, an ambitious person and should be curious and hardworking. With all these qualities, their academic success is guaranteed and they can make their parents and teachers proud. Also, this is among the first step to their dream job.
