Macbeth is a tragic character from William Shakespeare’s play – Macbeth. The story explained how the main character Macbeth, transforms from a war hero to a murdering villain. Macbeth killed King Duncan and became the new King of Scotland. His behavior makes him a tyrant. His cruel, greedy and cold blood. At the end of the play, McDuff ended his life. However, Macbeth was not the only person responsible for his downfall. So this essay will focus on the causes of Macbeth’s tragic downfall.

Making immoral decisions in ambitious pursuits will ultimately lead to negative consequences. Sometimes, humanity becomes evil, greedy and cruel after they got power. Like Mcbeth or a historic emperor in China, called Li Shimin. Li was the second Chinese emperor in Tang Dynasty. He and his followers assassinated Crown Prince Li JiangCheng and Prince Li YuanJi at Xuanwu Gate where he hosted dinner for his brothers. Since he murders his brothers, Li Shimin was installed as the crown prince. And after another six days, he forced his father passed the throne to him. Then Li became the king. Within the play in Macbeth, Macbeth already knows that he can’t make the dumb decision which is killing the king. However, some external information was led him became a tyrant. Lady Macbeth was one of the reasons. Before lady, Macbeth and Macbeth kill the king. Lady Macbeth said: “Only look up clear; To alter favour ever is to fear; Leave all the rest to me, it told us her thoughts during that time. This example explained Lady Macbeth participated in the plan with Macbeth. Greedy and power made Lady Macbeth crazy until she loses her mind. Finally led to the tragedy happens. Also, according to the quote said Lady Macbeth: “Infirm of purpose: Give me the daggers: the sleeping and the dead are but as pictures.” Lady Macbeth assisted Macbeth to murder the king, she does not feel guilty about it. And Lady Macbeth is believed what he had done is correct. This quote is another reason that brought the tragedy happens. The last quote also said by Lady Macbeth is: “Who dares receive it other, as we shall make our griefs and clamor roar upon his death.” This quote was demonstrated that Lady Macbeth’s dark side, Macbeth was misled by Lady Macbeth. A good general, a good warrior and the king’s trustest brother bitrate to the king. Finally, became a cold-blooded killing machine, dead with no honor.

Except for Lady Macbeth, three witches still have responsible for Macbeth’s tragic downfall. At the start of the story, when they met with Macbeth and Banquo. Witches said: “Hail, Macbeth. Hail to thee, thane of Glamis/All hail, Macbeth hail to thee, thane of Cawdor/All hail, Macbeth. That shalt be king hereafter. All their conversations were about predictions. These prophecies had entirely changed Macbeth’s whole life as he readily trusted in the prophecy of the three witches without query. “The future in the instant” suggests how he feels doing whatever to achieve the prophecy is what he deserves. The result of his credulity soon led to the murder of King Duncan, Banquo as well as Macduff’s family as a result of impulsion by Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. People should not blindly follow and overly-rely on other people’s words, just like how Macbeth failed as a result of him despises and sacrifices people’s life for his own wants and desires, we must all learn how to manage our own desires and greed. If we do not always make deliberate thoughts and respect all life, it's going to be more likely that there will also not be supported and respected. After Macbeth killed the king, they make three new predictions for Macbeth: “Macbeth beware Macduff/ The power of man, for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth/Macbeth shall never vanquish’d be until Great Birnam wood to hill shall come against him. Those three predictions look zero percent happened. So Macbeth became overconfident and fearless. Like everyone overconfident people. Macbeth killed by MacDuff. To be honest, three witches didn’t do many worse things against Ducan, they even only appeared in two scenes. However, their predictions cost Macbeth’s horrible life. A good king killed by his cousin. Three witches prediction directly influenced Macbeth's life. If without their ridiculousness predictions, perhaps, no blood fight in the play and everybody has a wonderful life.

All in all, Macbeth was not the only one responsible for his tragic downfall. Lady Macbeth and three of Witches' guilt are more seriously than Macbeth. Their words and behaviors changed Macbeth’s whole life. His life was supposed to be more perfect and glorious. However, fate lies to him. Humanity is evil or cruel. Many people still suffered like Macbeth every day. But it is hard to defeat the desires that come from your deep heart.
