Do you want be on a couch all day over Fortnite? If you do then I think you should think about what it will do to your life socially and physically. You may think it’s good because you win and you can get money off it like ninja but in the end what are you getting and what choices do you make while you are in the deep realms of fortnite.
This game is taking people away from their social lives such as sport and drawing you into a secluded zone where they do nothing but play fortnite. It is drawing you away from their less pixelated friends to their pixelated enemies. Making you not do their usual soccer games, footy matches and their friends destroying their social lives. Eleven-year-old Riley Hozinger likes fortnite so much he does not play on his skateboard or scooter. He even say that he did not play on it for 4 weeks once in a row. His Mum says otherwise and that it was only 3 days. It was possibly the longest 3 days of his life.
People spend so much time away from their social lives meaning they do not eat and they become more and more obese because they are doing nothing. All they are doing is exercising their thumbs and fingers witch does not use a lot of energy. Which leads to lots of energy being stored and not doing anything. Did you know that in 2007 to 2008 about one quarter of Australian children (about 600,000 aged 5-17) are overweight or obese? Most reasons of these children becoming overweight and obese are they do not get enough exercise and spending extended amounts of time on sedentary pursuits.
It is also bad for your posture. Adam Fields is a chiropractor and say that those who are game addicted end up with rounded shoulders, a hyper-extended neck, and a hunched back. He calls people like this slouchers and this is also known as postural syndrome. People get this from looking at computer screens without any kind of exercise. This is common among gamers. If you do not correct the syndrome when your young you can become more of a hunch back as you get older and possibly more issues. The symptoms and signs can be hard to notice at fist. Possible symptoms could be an aching neck, tightened trapezius, levator scapulae on the dorsal side, tightness of the pectoralis major and minor, muscle pain, headaches, artheritis, and rounded shoulders are some of the symptoms.
In conclusion, I think fortnite MUST be banned because of the fact that people are being taken away from what their lives should be and are becoming obese, overweight, and seclude ourselves from society. If you don’t want anything to happen to you and you don’t want fortnite to be banned you can set times for yourself to play, don’t keep saying one more game to yourself, and go to the gym at least 3-4 times a week to burn off any extra energy.
