There are a lot things in today's world that I would like to change. Violence in school, Misuse of social media, Religious based discrimination, and last but not least alcohol and drug abuse in teens are some of the things that if I think about, I can go on for centuries. I wish the negativity of these things can disappear in one day or one second but it is not possible. I believe none of this can be achieved unless everyone starts doing something about it.
There are different types of violence in schools. Bullying, corporal punishment, attacks on school, physical fight are just some of them. Every school says there is no bullying in their school and we all know it is not true. They like to make their school look as good and the best for your child as much they can. Half of the teenage students are a victim of peer violence aka bullying on a regular basis. Corporal punishment in schools sends a very strong message to students that the violence is acceptable in schools which by the way is not. The punishment can sometimes not physically but mentally leave a scar so deep that it stays with the student for the rest of their lives. Attacks on schools are the one of the sixth grave violence in today’s world. It all builds up in the mind of the attacker it never happens that one day the attacker snapped and it happened. It doesn't matter what kind of school violence is the worst, it all needs to stop period. You are a Muslim, oh that automatically makes you a terrorist. What! you are gay, no that is not acceptable in Christianity. There are a lot of laws that are supposed to protect you from religious discrimination but do they?, Well no. People are using religious to as an excuse to discrimination against and hurting people.
Everybody has their own right to their own religious beliefs but not everyone follows that. Some of the cases are people being fired from religious based facilities and workplaces they practice another religious, LGBT people not allowed in churches, being forced to work on your religious holiday, and many more. There was a time in my life where I was ashamed to admit that I am a Muslim because of how other students and teachers will treat me, not anymore though.
I believe we need accept the others regardless of what religious they practice or what kind of beliefs do they have. Social media connects people and it helps in many other ways too but it also comes with a negative side.
