Nowadays, in the world around us everywhere are social sites and video games. Every child want‘s to have PS4 or Xbox console or even a computer with games, they wish every Christmas time for a new game. Every year people have a new model of FIFA and NHL (Footbal, Ice hockey). People love new line-ups of our favorite teams even when people are adult. People love to invite their friends to come and play with them and have fun, but there is another side of video games. Violent games such as a Mafia or GTA (grand theft auto) those games have on a cover sign which don’t allow people under 18 years old to play. But should people really stop selling these games to teenagers? Why violent video games should not be banned? Teenagers should be able to buy video games for 3 reasons.
Because playing any genre of games even violent ones have a positive effect on young people, it can be a stress relief. It’s also good for people with ADHD so they can reduce their anger or settle down for while. Interestingly, a research team at the University of Tubingen in Germany showed that playing video games is an effective way to treating ADHD as medication such as Ritalin because games on screen are raising their attention to a task. For an example ADHD patients learn how to react quicker and as they going through the game, the challenge is increasing. Video-games also help people with brain development such as learning to use different strategies or help them to build focus, patience, and growth in creativity. Research suggests children’s creativity is increased by playing any kind of video game, including violent games, but not when they use other types of technology, such as surfing on the internet on a computer or texting on a cell phone.
As long as people have a balanced life with real-life friendships and enjoyment in socializing with their families and friends and other people. In a different point of view if governments shouldn’t allow teenagers to play these games, why governments allow them to watch action movies with guns and blood? It has the same influence as games.
Though there has been an increased popularity of violent video games, violence involving youth has been at the lowest levels in more than three decades now, as revealed by federal crime statistics. As sales of video games have risen about more than four times in period of 1995-2008, numbers of violent crimes have fallen.
A lot of studies have found no connection between playing video games and actual expressions of violence. The US Secret Service did a review in 2004 aimed at identifying causes of shooting in a american schools, and it found just 12 percent of studied attackers - that's 5 out of 41 people that expressed their interest in violent video games. That's lower than the national average: In 2010, 85% of boys age 15 to 18 reported playing violent games.
BBC News reports that children who play 12 hours of an action-based video game can help improve their reading speed skills without a cost to the accuracy of what they read.
For example, a small goup of Italian dyslexic children were randomly picked to the treatment group that played the action mini-games or to a control group that played the non-action mini-games for 12 hours over nine days. Attention and reading skills were assessed before and after the gameplay intervention. Consistent with previous work, the treatment group showed significantly larger improvements on the attention tests than did the control group. More importantly, they also showed an improvement in the reading measures, especially increases in reading speed without decreasing reading accuracy.
In conclusion, young people or teenager‘s should be able to buy violent video games, because of a couple of benefits such as a focus-solving problems and treating some problems as stress, depression, and dyslexia. There is no real evidence which shows that violent games are bad for a young brain. Playing games have a social reason if you play with your friends. Nowadays, playing violent games is good for an income, because there are a lot of competitions where are professional paid players. Games can delay an aging process.
