Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings was founded by Ong Yoong Nyock in 1975.Headquarter of Tiong Nam is at the Johor, Malaysia. Tiong Nam began as a small-scale cargo business handling consolidated cargo and micro-distribution within Peninsular Malaysia. Tiong Nam had start expansion which is extend to other country such as Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and China. Now Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings has over 2000 trucks and over 3000 of employees as there are different type of customers that have different needs. Tiong Nam not only do transportation business but also warehousing, express delivery and the crane and heavy transportation service.

Tiong Nam owns over 75 warehouse which is the biggest warehouse owner in Malaysia which includes general warehouses, bonded warehouses, cold rooms and free trade zone warehouses. Tiong Nam’s warehouse services are integrated with the delivery services. The large fleet of trucks with different capacity is to make sure the goods are being delivered on time. Tiong Nam have their internal system to keep track about the database of the goods so that can know where the goods is and whether deliver on time. Tiong Nam’s equipment is keep update and relevant so that can easy link with their customer. Tiong Nam also have developed in property development.

The portfolio includes the development of industrial, commercial, and residential properties. Tiong Nam also have largest cold room service in Malaysia. There is a total storage capacity of 388,000 square feet. The cold rooms have multi-temperature capabilities which is frozen, chilled and ambient. This is use to facilitate the storage of a large number of goods from chocolate, chemicals, and camera film to raw materials used in the production of airplanes.

Tiong Nam has continued diversification into property development, e commerce and heavy project cargo. Property development is also the main focus which has increase in Tiong Nam’s third quarter net profit. Tiong Nam also plan involved in E-commerce business for logistic which requires storage, distribution and door-to-door logistics services. Tiong Nam focus on heavy project cargo which is carried on many oversized item because it is a large ROI. (Ali, 2016)
