We all love to squeal and gasp at cute, fluffy animals. While the common household pet, such as a dog or cat, is known for being furry and fluffy, are there other species in the animal kingdom that are just as furry and fluffy, or perhaps moreso? Discover the top five fluffiest animals in the world right here! Some of the answers below just might surprise you.
Arctic
Fox
Muskox
Otters
Chinchilla
Angora
Rabbits
The Arctic Fox
The Arctic Fox has to be one of the furriest animals in the world, otherwise how would they survive the harsh winters? These beauties can even withstand temperatures as low as -90°F (-70 C°). Their fur coats double to keep out the cold. Imagine how fluffy that must feel!
A muskox is one of the furriest creatures in the world belonging to Greenland and the Arctic. In order to adapt to the polar winters, muskox grow their own sweaters, per say. Once they shed their thick fur coat for spring, it can be spun into what is considered to be some of the warmest wool in the world! Now that’s furry!
Believe it or not, otters are at the top of the list for being one of the fluffiest animals in the entire world.
Why? Due to their semi-aquatic life, otters need two thick fur coats; one that is waterproof to repel water away from the skin and therefore retaining heat, and the second to add a layer of protection and warmth. It is said that otters have about one million hairs per square inch on their bodies, that’s huge! Now all of these layers make us want to just cuddle up with an otter. You?
These little balls of fluff are actually a lot fluffier than you might think. Chinchillas deserve a space in the top five most furriest animals on the planet because of their very dense fur coat. In order to achieve such a luscious, thick coat, Chinchillas grow approximately 50 hair strands from one single hair follicle! Now that’s impressive.
No doubt you’ve seen these oversized cotton balls on popular social media platforms; they are too cute not to be shared! Angora Rabbits vary in breed (French, German, English, etc. ) but it is said that the English are the fluffiest.
Could it be true? Angora Rabbits are so fluffy that it actually puts them at several health risks. Sometimes all of that fur makes it difficult for them to see, eat, and more. This furriest animal is in definite need of some tender loving care to keep all of that fluff looking cute and cuddly!
Top 5 Furriest & Fluffiest Animals in the World Did you expect these guys to be on the top five for the most furriest and fluffiest animals in the world? Which animal would you like to cuddle with most? We’re going to skip the Muskox and go with the cuddly Chinchilla or Angora Rabbit.
