Tyrone Wallace is a professional basketball player who currently plays for NBA's Los Angeles Clippers a Point/Shooting guard. Wallace played college football for California Golden Bears before being drafted by the Utah Jazz as the last pick of the 2016 NBA draft.
Wallace was born in Bakersfield, California, on the 10th day of June 1994 as Tyrone Tyrin Wallace Jr. He attended Bakersfield High School, where he played football with the school's team and made a record of 1,767 points to become the school's all-time scoring leader.
He won Bakersfield Californian Player of the Year award twice and was named a Second Team All-CIF selection in his senior year. Rivals.com rated hin the thirteenth best point guard in the country, as well as a 4-star rating. After High school, he played college basketball at the University of California. As a freshman, he started ten games and recorded an average of 7.2 points and 4.4 rebounds for each game for the rest of the season. By his junior year, his statistics per game was an average of 17.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4 assists. During that season, he became a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award and was also named first-team All-Pac-12. After his junior season, he announced he was forgoing his senior season for an NBA draft. During his college career, he shared the court with the likes of Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb. NBA Career Utah Jazz would select him as the last pick (60th overall) in the 2016 NBA Draft. In July, he joined the team for the 2016 NBA Summer League. His performance during his first summer league wasn't good enough to earn him an invite to join the big league club.
In October Jazz's NBA Development League affiliate, Salt Lake City Stars acquired him but was waived in November due to an injury and later reacquired. Despite his movements, he showed some prospects in during his time with the G-League recording an average of 14.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists per game as well as a 1.3 steals on twenty-seven minutes of action a night. In July 2017, his rights were renounced, and he was free to be signed by any NBA team. In September 2017, the Los Angeles Clippers signed him and would later move him to their G League affiliate the Agua Caliente Clippers after the preseason. After displaying some improvement with the young Clippers' squad, Los Angeles Clippers signed him to a 2-way contract. and for the rest of the year, he split his playing time between the two teams (Agua Caliente Clippers and Los Angeles squad).
In January 2018, Tyrone Wallace recorded a career-high score of 22 points in the Clippers' win against the Golden State Warriors, in September of the same year, he signed an offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans but the Clippers exercised their right of first refusal and matched the offer sheet two days later.
The NBA star is the son of Michelle Wallace and Tyrone Wallace Sr. He has three siblings - an older brother named Ryan Carolina and two younger siblings - a sister named Diamond and a younger brother named Da’zion. Thanks to his older brother Ryan, Tyrone Wallace grew up as a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant. It is his older brother and his love for Kobe that fanned Wallace love for basketball to flames and thanks to them he is where he is today playing professional basketball. His family are always there for him giving him all the love and support he needs. He recalls watching the 2016 NBA Draft with his family and how he almost gave up when he heard player after player called to the stage without hearing his name until almost the last pick when his agent called to inform him, he was the last pick, that meant the world to him. His parents, aunt and a few other family members attend some the games to watch him play.
