Computer make people isolated and decrease their communication skills. Technology is use of scientific knowledge that devote to create an application for the betterment of mankind. The word technology is not mere a computer and mobiles. Its mean each and everything that makes the task easy and mobile. We use technology to make our life comfortable and extend our ability to tackle down the problem. We use technology in daily lives, at work, at transport, at travel, at security and else.

Today business in technology is growing day by day. These companies use new and latest idea to attract the user minds. These companies create new and latest ideas to make life style easy. There are famous companies who earn Billions of Dollars yearly is just because of technology. “Computer make people isolated and decrease their communicational skills James Comey”. Communication Technology that use technical means to transmit information. Data transmission is not issue now a day. Pile of data is transmitted from one place to other in no time. Communication is need in daily life, it may be of any kind such as weather, politics, flood or any kind of current affairs.

In every changing technological world, computers seem to be at the forefront of education. At the same time, the exact impact of using technology for instruction is still unknown. Some questions teaching communities grapple with are technology's role in student's desire to learn and how technology affects the retention of the information. More specifically, it would be useful to know whether students respond in a more positive manner to participating in a social studies class when using web 2.0 tools versus when using paper-based methods. For an educator in the 21st century, it is important to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of technology on education. “Every once in a while, a new technology, an old problem, and a big idea turn into an innovation. Dean Kamen”

The general Technology and its Effect on Motivation and Retention 2 question that guided this study was “To what extent does technology help student motivation and retention of information in a 7th grade Social Studies classroom? To this end, for this investigation, the researchers outlined three major goals. First, the purpose of this study is to uncover students' motivation for learning when engaging with technology during the instructional time. The second goal is to measure the retention of information after using two different methods of teaching. The final goal of this study is to analyze a smaller special needs group and how their motivation and retention are affected by technology-based projects (Idea and few words from google).

Technology reduces the ability of communication by creating extra ordinary easiness in a man life. Now people feel no need of discussing the idea and information with others, in this way their ability of explore and learn deeply is diminishing day by day. Students think they can learn through technology media so they quit their classes and pass their time in meaning less activities.

Effect of Technology

No doubt technology made student life easy but on the other hand they involve in immoral activities. They use technology just for fun and entertain themselves. They feel no free time to come in touch with teacher. They do not discuss topic with their teacher. In this way they suffer with lack of communication skills and good command over the topic. It is common word google is best teacher, but it is not right, because you can not find exact knowledge on google. Every one has rights to upload and update any knowledge with out testing that lead the mis guide to seekers. People come with mis guide knowledge that cause failure for them.

The only way to learn and seek is to discuss with your teacher. In this way one can improve his/her communication skill. Now a day mostly people spent their time on social media. They do not discuss with people that lead lack in of communication skills. Basically, these types of skills learn by sharing and discussing ideas with others. Only way to grow a healthy environment and ideal students is to promote Library culture. There will be and ideas seminars to explore the talent of the generation.

Benefits of Technology

No doubt technology made the task easy. But, at same time we never ignore its side effects. It is common debate it is up to you how you learn with Technology, but, most of the time its use is worst. The effectiveness of learning with technology has been tackled from both sides. There is Technology and its Effect on Motivation and Retention evidence that the use of technology increases achievement and self-efficacy (Liu, Hsieh, Cho, and Schallert, 2006), but some studies indicate that the use of technology in certain areas is not beneficial to students (Cramer and Smith, 2002). Still yet, some studies show no link between technology and achievement, but a positive relationship between technology use and discipline (Garthwait, 2007). Technology use in schools has had mixed results. Technology integration must have a purpose in order for it to be beneficial for producing positive results (Cramer and Smith, 2002).

VoiceThread is a popular website that allows users to create, share, and learn from each other. VoiceThread is a web-based digital storytelling tool that allows users to create digital slideshows with captivating images. The social aspect of VoiceThread allows all users to learn and grow with each other. Using digital tools allows students to use technology while achieving the same objectives of those students using traditional methods of learning. Digital Storytelling. Storytelling has been an educational method for centuries. As children become personally involved with the story, they are more likely to learn from it. Digital storytelling helps children actively participate in the learning instead of passively watching (Ohler, 2005). Children gain many skills through storytelling. The telling of stories orally helps students develop their listening skills, planning skills, and allows students to create academic content in their own language (Ohler, 2008). Critical thinking skills will develop as the listener is guided through the story. Listening to and creating stories provides a child with the framework to tell their own stories about their own lives (Ohler)

Today it is most discussing issue. How to made digital knowledge effective for readers. Many research and journals present ideas, best idea is to sketch a clear line between useful and un useful Information. In this way one can not involve any kind of illegal activity deliberately. At the end in discussion I want to present solution how we can fill this gap. We need to promote book learning skills, for this purpose need to establish libraries all over the world. There shall be seminars conduct at this alarming issue. Book reading should be encouragement. The vital parts in this campaign are teachers. Poet and Idol shall encouragement. On the other hands parents should realize the situation. Parents shall develop healthy environment for their kid to discuss and share ideas and knowledge with them. Generation gap shall be removed. Mobile libraries shall introduce. There will be a discussion session between teacher and students. Student should be encouraged to presents ideas. In Pakistan we need to review our academic curriculum, excessive use of mobile phone should be discouraged. By the recent researches findings, more than 4 hours a smart technology user use internet without no reason.

How we can improve face to face discussion?

A third question regarding the impacts of technology on face-to-face communication asked students whether they noticed quality degradation in conversation amongst the presence of technology. Eighty-nine percent of respondents believed there was a degradation, only 5% disagreed, and 6% neither agreed nor disagreed. While conducting field observations, similar results found evident degradation in the quality of conversation among those students using technology in the presence of others. One student, observed outside a campus building, was FaceTiming an individual on her iPhone. When a friend proceeded to join her in person, the female ignored her friend and continued her conversation on FaceTime. Many students at Lakeside Dining Hall ate lunch with their friends, but neglected to engage in any conversation. Instead, a large majority of the students in the dining hall sitting with others (73%) spent their time texting or using their computers or tablets. When asked for additional feedback regarding. “More than ever, the world needs good engineers. However, the pool of talent is shrinking not growing. Dean Kamen”

Technology use and face-to-face communication, students provided a number of insightful responses. One student said, “I don’t like using my phone when I’m with friends in person, and I don’t like it when they use theirs, but if it is used in a way to stimulate conversation – like showing a funny video, or documenting our time together via Snapchat or photos – then I think it is acceptable.” Another student agreed, mentioning that whether technology affects face-to-face communication positively or negatively depends on how it is used. “Love myself I do. Not everything, but I love the good as well as the bad. I love my crazy lifestyle, and I love my hard discipline. I love my freedom of speech and the way my eyes get dark when I'm tired. I love that I have learned to trust people with my heart, even if it will get broken. I am proud of everything that I am and will become. Johnny Weir.”

A third student shared similar opinions stating, “I don’t mind if it’s used to enhance a conversation (looking up important information or things relevant to a conversation); otherwise, it typically takes away from the experience in general as you can tell the other person(s) attention is divided and unfocused on the present moment.” Many respondents voiced their concerns that technology is diminishing society’s ability to communicate face to face. One student stated, “People have lost the ability to communicate with each other in face-to-face interactions,” while another respondent said, “Technology is making face-to-face communication much more difficult because people use technology as a crutch to hide behind.” A third student responded, “I think technology impedes our ability to interact with people face to face,” and a fourth agreed that technology “both enhances what we share online and decreases what we say face to face.”( The Elon Journal of Undergraduate Research in Communications, Vol. 6, No. 1 Spring 2015)
