My Career Choice: Why I Want to Be a Neonatal Nurse

When I think about the careers that I want to do, I think about what all I will need to do. For the careers that I want to do there is a lot of information and thinks I need to look at. The careers I have are a Neonatal Nurse, CNA, and a Preschool Teacher. All of these is because they are the best things that I enjoy.

How to become a Neonatal Nurse is you have to be enrolled in an accredited school of training, so that you can get to be hands on and the baccalaureate degree is earned through a college and generally takes four years to obtain. To become a CNA you need to have a high school diploma, because most places won’t hire you without one and it can take anywhere between four to six weeks if you are an adult. For a high schooler you take a yearlong class and you have hands on. Lastly how to become a Preschool Teacher is you have to have a high school diploma, because you will teach little kids and you need to be CPR certification and first aid.

As a Neonatal Nurse I would be working with newborn infants born with a variety of problems ranging from prematurity, birth defects, infection, cardic malformations, and surgical problems and you may care for infants up to the age of two. A CNA cleans and sanitizes patients’ rooms ad reports observations of patients’ behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurse. You can work pretty much anywhere as a cna but most people work in nursing homes. A Preschool Teacher helps students learn mainly by play and interaction activities and you use storytelling, rhyming and acting games to improve social skills.

The type of pay that a Neonatal Nurse gets is $45.30 per hour and $88,121 annually. It has a really good pay and I think that it will be a good thing for me to do. The pay for a CNA is the hourly wage is $11.46 and annually is $62,450. This is a lot of money with only working certain things. As a CNA you can’t as much as a Neonatal Nurse but you can do most of the things. As a Preschool Teacher yearly you would make $31,420 and professionals make $49,660 or more yearly.

The job outlook for a Neonatal Nurse is much higher than average rate of growth surpasses other nursing growth rates such as registered nursing, and even just the average nurse practitioner role. You will pretty much being looking up to working higher than anyone else in the facility. As a Neonatal Nurse you have to work with newborn babies and their families. You are responsible for the baby and telling the parents when they can take the baby home.

The job outlook for a CNA is you ca take vital signs which are Temperature, Blood Pressure, and Pulse. Those are important factors for being a CNA. The next one is you have more authority and tend to be paid better. You get paid really well with being a CNA and you can either work at a nursing home or a hospital. You have a bunch of places that you could work with or have an idea of where you want to be at.

Lastly the job outlook for a Preschool Teacher is you are expected to grow faster than most other careers. You have to grow responsibility and respect. The last one is the number of children under the age of five is rising. Every year there is more and more kids under five going to school. They learn early and get to start school earlier.

Out of all three of these careers the one that I really want to do is become a Neonatal Nurse. I love being around babies and they also look at me when I see one just out and about. I enjoy helping people take care of their babies. I use to babysit for family members or family friends. I always get told that I will become a good mother when I get older because of how good I am with babies and how much I love being around them.

For a CNA I am already taking classes and that is where you start out at. It is not that hard of a job and I feel like it is a good start for me. Most classes are only six weeks and with still being in high school I get to go to school for a year to become one. As I started this year out I was scared to even start class. Now I am glade that I did and it won’t take as long to become a Neonatal Nurse.

Why I picked a Preschool Teacher is because they have little kids and they are great. I love little kids and I think it would be really fun. I would enjoy helping little kids learn and start their schooling. I would have fun activities for them to do so they can learn an easy and fast way.

For me to know which career I want to do I looked up a few careers that I have always loved doing. For the careers that I want to do there is a lot of information and thinks I need to look at. The careers I have are a Neonatal Nurse, CNA, and a Preschool Teacher. All of these is because they are the best things that I enjoy.
