‘Why did you choose University of Central Florida?’ This is a question that is asked to me almost as often as ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ Among my explanations and responses, I often respond by saying, ‘Why not UCF?’
I first fell in love with UCF when I was around seven years old at Light up UCF. If UCF was having an event, I was there. As I walked through the alluring campus of UCF, I was immediately attracted to the liveliness of the university. In addition to the liveliness of the campus, the location of UCF in the heart of one of America’s most popular cities, that I grew up in, added tremendous desire for me to attend this university.
Having interest in the medical field, to become a RN, the outstanding and modern medical program at UCF has greatly influenced my desire to attend this college. After years of knowing that UCF was the college that I wanted to be at in the near-future, I began to read statements from students and alumni of UCF. As I read through these statements, I became aware of a relationship between that of the students and the professors that not many colleges possess. And last but not least, my desire to attend UCF was blown through the roof as I became aware of all of the extracurricular activities offered by the college. Having participated in sports and other organizations for most of my life, extracurricular activities and a fantastic curriculum has definitely become one of my key things to look for in a college and UCF definitely has what I am looking for.
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t think UCF was my dream school. It has and always will be my #1 choice. In conclusion, liveliness, location, academics, a personal connection, and activities are among the many reasons why I have chosen to apply at the University of Central Florida.
My family has been an integral part of my academic and social development. They have promoted dedication to educational development, and have supported me throughout my educational career. My family’s culture is that hard work leads to personal fulfillment. We are independent, and self-sustaining when needed. This influence has been crucial to my successful development because of their guidance in the benefits of independence, and the importance of education.
Educational prosperity has always been a really important factor about my family. My family is ruthless in describing the advantages of education, which i’m grateful for. They instilled educational values in me through stories of people who thought they didn’t need school. This technique showed me just how much grades really pay off. they also enforced the advantage of job security, which within the current economy may be a crucial necessity. The work experience stories of individuals getting fired, and family friends being fired has doubled my will upon furthering my education. Another, benefit that they need expounded upon me is that education creates a lively citizen. Knowledge of the planet around me helps develop skills which will contribute to society, like knowledge of politics will make me a more informed voter, during which i will be able to vote for a more appropriate candidate.
They have taught me, if nothing else, to strive to be my nothing less than my best and that hard work is the only way through which that can be achieved. This goal is one that I will follow with my utmost passion in which I plan to begin the college portion of this dream at the University of Central Florida.
