Why London is My Favorite City

The world is filled with countless people, each with a different taste in food, fashion and different preferences in all types of domains. In this essay I am going delve into why London is my favorite city.

Each person may have a favorite city due to a variety of reasons, like the fact that they were born there and all the people they ever knew are in that city or that they may have gotten their dream job there. London for is my favorite city mainly because of the atmosphere and by that I mean that I’ve always liked rainy weather and living among the busy streets of a large city, it is in fact the largest city of England and the United Kingdom and also its capital. Thanks to its busy streets you can meet people from all walks of life, from street performers trying to amuse passersby to celebrities making their way to interviews or some local event.

London stands on the River Thames and that adds to its beauty and it also gives the people in it the option to cross it by boat or cable car which offers the opportunity to take pictures of the landscape surrounding them. The River Thames is one of many features London offers to the average tourist visiting London, among the other tourist attractions in London there is The London Eye which is one of the world’s most tallest observation wheels is located in the heart of the capital opposite the House of Parliament and The Big Ben which is one of the biggest clock towers and the most famous attraction London is known for worldwide.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch to date. She is also the longest-serving female head of the state in the world’s history .Thanks to her achievements and the prosperity she brought to England I think it is amazing how much respect the people and tourists have for her as a person and her status even though The United Kingdom isn’t ruled by a monarch anymore. Buckingham Palace the place where the Queen resides is also quite famous, being protected against intruders by the queen’s guard, which are known for their big black fur hats and the fact that they are meant to never flinch during their job even though on multiple occasions tourists force them to shout and employ force to make them keep their distance.

One of the facts that I love about London is that it has thousands of parks for all the people who would want to go for breath of fresh or walk their dog, go for a job or maybe just take a walk among the trees with their friends. Besides green parks London also contains amazing feats of architecture and contemporary art installations, The Shard is on of these feats of architecture standing out from the rest of the buildings in the city.

The people in the city are as diverse as its attractions, people from all over the world who bring along with them their traditions, clothing and food come to settle in the capital of England and make their dream a reality, this is why London is called a melting pot of cultures.
