The topic of this argumentative essay is that post-secondary education should be free for everyone in Canada. Each of us at least once thought about this issue. Many people think that schooling ought to be at no cost; others that gratis schooling should not be good in Canada. The issue of free education for everyone is very topical in the modern world. Almost every contemporary person seeks college or university for learning. To do this, most people make an effort to study well at school, and they are preparing for the final exams, to be successful in the future. However, what people can do if they must pay for schooling, but there is no money to realize their dream. It can construct social inequality, huge unemployment and difficult of payment for schooling.

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

Firstly, Canada is a highly economical country, but post-secondary is not free for students. It can influence public inequality between high-income families and low-revenue families in Canada. Often, high-income students whose parents disburse, for their schooling think like this, they pay for learning, so college does not own the right to deduct them, and they have to oblige to set off because they paid a lot of money. As an effect, the learners do not pay enough attention to their learning. Such students do not think about acquiring the necessary knowledge, but they aim only at obtaining a Canadian diploma. However, what is about low-revenue families in Canada which are the most talented students, but not all of them can pay for schooling. The government in Canada is losing the ability to identify these brilliant minds, which can make significant changes in different areas of living. In Canada, only “31 percent of youth from the bottom income quartile attended post-secondary education compared with 50.2 percent in the top income quartile.” “Once again, the evidence indicates that students from low-income families are disadvantaged right through the education system to postsecondary training.”

The second argument why education should be free in Canada is unemployment. The government in Canada is struggling with unemployment many years, and they try to find a solution to reduce unemployment. However, Canada has huge unemployment which directly affects the likelihood of unemployment of young Canadians. For example, young students with vocational schooling, especially upper learning, the risks of unemployment and the time for finding the first job are less. As an adult, a person must use his or her potential in some kind of activity if a person has an education. However, there is an issue of unemployment in our world thousands of people are on the streets and protests. There are two causes for this: a person has not received schooling and is guilty himself, the second is the unfairness for people. According to the article by Jaaskelainen (n.d.), between “2008 and 2009, Canada’s economy entered a recession phase. During the economic recession, Canada’s unemployment rate peaked at 8.3 percent, which was an increase of 2.2 percent over the pre-recession unemployment level, and roughly amounted to 1.52 million unemployed persons”. The government in Canada is the responsibility to decrease massive unemployment in Canada. The Canadian government should pay close attention to post-secondary learning and make it free.

Finally, in the modern world, the accessibility of excellent schooling is becoming an increasingly important component of the overall socio-economic and cultural growth of the nation. However, the government is the responsibility for making post-secondary learning more affordable because Canadian undergraduates have challenges for paying of schooling. According to the article, people who are domestic undergraduates in Canada, they must pay an average of CA$6,838 per year for scholar degree, and CA$7,086 per year for a graduate degree. The regular schooling costs for foreign students in 2018/19 are CA$27,159 (~US$20,600) per year. However, Canadian schooling is more expensive than in other countries. According to the article, “there are no tuition fees at most public universities in Germany, and this applies to both German students and internationals, regardless of nationality. Just a small nominal university fee is charged, of around €150-250 (~US$170-280), to cover administration costs”. However, free learning in Canada can help eliminate the financial barriers impeding, and access to all members of Canadian society, therefore creating more of a balance is between Canadian’s many diverse of cultural and financial communities.
