Why Summer is My Favorite Season

In chapter 16 of The Catcher in the Rye, Holden says, “Certain things they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know that’s impossible, but it’s too bad anyway.” He is talking about the museum and how everything in it always stays the same. Holden seems to like the fact that things don’t change because he is still stuck in the past.

Everyone has a time in their life where they wish that things would stay exactly as they are. If I could choose my time, I would want to live in the summer time. School is one of the most stressful things for me. During the school year, all I do is homework and study. I barely have time to play sports or hang out with my friends, even on weekends. I used to have a job but it was impossible for me to work and still maintain good grades. So, I quit. I am also really tired because I only get six hours of sleep each night, which makes it hard to stay awake and pay attention in class.

Spring is probably my favorite season because the weather is perfect, not too hot and not too warm. On the other hand, Summer can produce really hot days that can prevent people from wanting to go outside. Even so, being in the sun is relaxing. I have no worries, just three months to find or create adventures. Summer means going on vacation. Some days to the beach, or traveling far away. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. If I could make a career out of travelling, I would. There is so much to see in the world and so much to explore. There is never time to travel during the school year because there would be too much work to make up. In conclusion., if i could pick any time in my life to stay in forever, it would be the summertime.
