Humans make more mistakes than robots. Computers think faster than people and they have sensors that sense if a car is coming. Self-driving cars can decrease car crashes per year by 90%, companies already made cars that have automatic brakes. Self-driving cars are driven by computers which means that they can think faster than humans and make fewer mistakes. Self-driving cars can put a stop to traffic jams and common police stops

Self-driving cars can help people in many ways, for example if you have a disease that doesn't let you use your legs or if you're an elder that needs a ride you can get a self-driving car that can help. What if you don't have the money to buy a self-driving car? There will probably be self-driving taxis to pick you up. What if you don't have a phone? Companies are thinking about adding eyes to self-driving cars and buses so you know that they see you and they can pick you up. Self-driving cars can help law enforcement by knowing where the crime is happening and how to get there fast without getting into traffic or hitting another car. Self-driving cars also can help people get to their work faster. Self-driving cars can drive people home if they're drunk. What if there was a car burglary going on? The cars can lock the robbers in the car and drive straight to the police station. What if they try to kick the door away? The cars can have a key that only lets the owner open the door. Greg Brannon works for AAA (American Automobile Association) and he says “People are getting more comfortable with self-driving cars.”

Some people think that self-driving cars aren’t safe but they are actually very safe. There are many reasons why self-driving cars are safe. Unlike humans, self-driving cars don't text and drive. What if there's something bad happening like a robbery? Self driving cars can tell what's happening around them and call the police, for example a tesla has a live camera that looks around their surroundings, most cars have a rear back camera that can be used to park their cars.
