American writer Colleen Hoover

Colleen Hoover is an American author known for her bestselling romance and young adult novels. She was born on December 11, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, and grew up in Saltillo, Texas. Hoover attended Texas A&M University-Commerce, where she earned a degree in Social Work. After graduation, she worked as a social worker for many years before deciding to pursue her passion for writing. Hoover's writing career began in 2011 when she self-published her first novel, "Slammed," on Amazon. It quickly gained popularity, and within months, it was on the New York Times Best Seller list. She followed up with a sequel, "Point of Retreat," which also became a bestseller. Since then, she has written numerous other books, including the "Hopeless" series, "It Ends with Us," "November 9," and "Verity."
