My Interest to Study Data Analytical Engineering at Northeastern University

I am delighted to introduce myself as a tech enthusiastic person who is diligent, pragmatic, ambitious, hardworking, easily adaptable, and a confident independent person. I strongly believe success is a result of choices we make. Evolution of data dramatically in recent years, in type, volume, and velocity - with its rapid evolution attributed to the widespread digitization of business processes globally, made me more fascinated towards data analytics. Nowadays, industries are innovating like never before, and a new generation of leaders in data analytics are needed for improving business decision makings and providing the biggest edge over competitor companies. In this context, I wish to enhance my technical skills, working capabilities and learn everything that contributes best for my career growth. So, I feel it is the right time to take up a master's degree in Data Analytical Engineering program which would be great for my future upbringing and life thereon. Hence, I envision Northeastern University as the right stepping stone to pursue my dreams and career goals.

I was an energetic and loved student in my school days. Mathematics and physics are always my fruit of interest. Every topic in mathematics wondered me and provoked me to learn much more. My aspiration for a technical career has prompted me to take up a Bachelor of Engineering (EEE) from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, where I secured 77% in 2017. I have started to expose my technical skills in the middle of undergraduate through a project 'SEGWAY' by manufacturing a Segway Personal Transporter (PT) which is a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered electric vehicle. My MBA program at IIM Raipur has introduced me to the theoretical concepts, practical skills and demands of the business world. During graduation, I worked on a research-based project entitled 'MBASkool' and conducted extensive company research of Insurance, real-estate companies in India and identified the top 10 firms in respective fields with help of few financial factors. Around this time I joined 'Adurcup' for a Summer internship where we made deep research related to how to expand the startup. We have conducted field studies at multiple restaurants in Delhi to estimate the demand for the different verticals and prepared research report by using programming language 'R' and SPS. We come up with 7 to 8 restaurants in 2007 and now it became one of the top 10 startups in India. The idea of learning and broadening my skills in research, honing my social, theoretical grasps over concepts and ideas of the business has enabled me to improve my thinking capabilities.

Throughout student life, I had also given a lot of effort to co-curricular and extracurricular activities. My passion for Painting made me participated in various competitions held at my school. Being well versed with the leadership skills and organizational skills, I served as a City Coordinator for Green Revolution Program (UN) from 2014 to 2016; Vice-chairperson of IEEE; placement coordinator for the EEE department; head of the whole design team; and also organized a 2-day National Conference on ‘Role of Engineers in the development of new state of Telangana’. As I am very good at Cricket, we won 1st and 3rd prizes in cricket tournament under my captaincy after 7 years.

I was fortunate to get selected in 'Deloitte', after completion of my MBA. Working as a Research Analyst since Dec 2017, I have been responsible for end-to-end project delivery from requirement analysis & questionnaire design, survey scripting & data collection, to delivering final analysis, key takeaways & actionable insights; managing senior stakeholders (P/P/D), project planning & scoping on an everyday basis; supporting the designing of standard operating procedures to improve processes maturity of the team; creating data analysis and visualizations using Tableau; etc. I possess a strong knowledge of various computer skills including Ms Excel, Tableau, R language, Python, and VBA. I've learned how to create a Google Ads Search and Display advertising campaign from scratch, how AdWords works, and how Google Analytics can track visitors from all referrers including search engines and social networks, direct visits, and referring sites, and pay-per-click networks through Google certified 'Google AdWords & Analytics–Fundamentals course'. My Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Certification course from KPMG has helped me acquire a solid knowledge of the theory, composition, and implementation of a Six Sigma initiative; learned team leadership and project management skill; and also become proficient in all of the analytical tools necessary to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control Six Sigma improvement projects.

I got an insight into Business Analytics course as it was one of the key modules in my MBA program. I started getting more fascinated once I came to know the role it has been playing in the business that analyzes the impact of price, quality, advertisement and many other business strategies upon the sale targets. Now, I am curious to acquaint myself with the in-depth knowledge and deeper understanding of business & data analytics and its strategies through a master's degree.

MS in Data Analytical Engineering program will prepare me for a comprehensive list of tasks including collecting, storing, processing and analysing data, reporting statistics and patterns, drawing conclusions and insights, and making actionable recommendations. My expectations include in-depth knowledge of data mining, analysis using R, SQL, SPSS and gain insights on AI using NLP and different other techniques. In the wake of finishing my course, I would like to venture in the research industry especially TMT and become a data scientist in the same domain.

My earnest desire to continue my further studies at the Northeastern University stems from the fact that it is one of the top-tier universities of the USA which comprises excellent facilities, cutting-edge research, accomplished faculty, and latest technology along with high academic standards. With numerous campuses, smaller class size, semester system, high-quality holistic learning, Northeastern University have a substantial international student population and worldwide research. At the end of the course, I want to take a good network of long-lasting and strong relationships with my fellow peers and faculty members.

I believe a master’s degree at Northeastern University would be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards achieving my career objectives. I am fully aware of the fact that studying this course requires a high level of intelligence, dedication and immense sacrifice.
