My Potential in Computer Science

The squeaky line that separates 'knowledge' from 'Application' and 'willingness' from 'doing' also defines success and failure. Reposing trust in my three Ps such as persistence, passion, and positivity as my professional as well as personal endeavors, I embark on a stage with a desire to enhance my competency and explore my potential.

As a child, I remember when I was studying class 6th. I was introduced to Computers for the first time which made an unfathomable impression on my young mind. It was at precisely that moment of my life; I decided to pursue a career in Computer Science. Against this backdrop, in an earnest sense of gratification, I take this opportunity to write my statement of purpose presenting my competencies and interests in accomplishing my objective to emerge as a computing professional.

Actuated by an interest in mathematics and logical reasoning, a base for Computer Science, and a proclivity on trending technologies, I opted to pursue an undergraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in the class of 2018-22. On embarking upon this challenging journey in my life, I realized that the curriculum is exhaustive with its real-time applications. Amongst my curriculum, “MEAN Stack Web Development, Front-end, Back-end Web Development, Cloud Computing, Computer Networking, Operating Systems, Database Management System, and G Suite Foundation” are the subjects that have enthralled me for their real-time applications, complemented by acquiring proficiency in C, C , Java, Python, HTML, CSS - Bootstrap, JavaScript - Node.js, PHP, MySQL.

However, to be quantified as conversant in Computer Science, during the sophomore and junior years of learning took a conscious decision to pursue projects which are challenging and eclectic viz. “Home budget management” will let the user know whether they are on the budget or out of the budget depending on the inputs provided, using java. “College Enquiry Chatbot” is an automated program that initiates conversation with the user, using AI libraries. “Weather Forecast Website” gathers City Name, Temperature, Minimum, and Maximum temperature in real-time that is displayed on the website, using Open Weather Map API. “Portfolio Website” which is my digital portfolio that showcases resume, projects, and works using front-end technologies viz. HTML, CSS with Bootstrap for making it mobile-friendly. “IPL Tournament Organizer” users can know information on teams, umpires, owners, and even add and remove details from the program itself, using C . Furthermore, to remain robust in my learning quests I pursued certifications in Linux , HTML, and RPA Training, and was vibrant in attending the technical events and workshops.

The conceptual understanding of the subjects has induced me a habit of analyzing different aspects to arrive at the best possible solution. However, the application of this theoretical knowledge was put to the litmus test more significantly when I have bestowed an internship opportunity at a European-based company - SYKE, as an Intern-Trainee. Wherein, learning the end-to-end process of building client websites including its Document Automation, Implementation, Testing, and Project management besides Legal Technologies and Certifications viz. HighQ, Contract Express, and DocuSign. And at Sparks foundation, developed a website for Banking facilitating users could transfer bitcoins from one user to multi-users, the website was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

My innate desire is to be an erudite professional in the domain of Computer Science. However, to accomplish my objective, my learning pursuits require a Master’s Program in Computer Science. I am aware of the commitment and perseverance it calls for, and feel confident that I am amply prepared to pursue the program.

I am looking for a school that has a world-class academic and research atmosphere, the best faculty, exceptional peers, and excellent infrastructure, an institute that can facilitate resources to help attain my ambitions. At this backdrop,

I feel confident that the MS Program in Computer Science of your University would thrust me closer to my objectives and infuse a value-addition to my profile, to explore challenging opportunities in the domain. With all these factors, I believe your esteemed university would be an ideal place for me to incubate my ideas and pave the right path towards my future. After the MS Program, my wish is to aggressively explore greener pastures, and for this purpose, I am in meticulous preparation, for a good push to a rewarding career.
