My Potential to Continue My Studies at New York University

I think NYU suits me best as it offers an outstanding, well-rounded, and global education. I am delighted at the fact that NYU’s curriculum fosters a student to develop intellectual prowess, problem-solving strategies, communication skills, and leadership abilities. I genuinely enjoy STEM subjects and feel motivated to learn and conduct basic and applied research to analyze the chemical processes that are involved with living organisms. I desire to avail of the research opportunities offered at the undergraduate level at NYU and to be taught by distinguished scholars. I am also thrilled to know that NYU Abu Dhabi offers summer internships and J-Term courses in many locations around the world, which will enable me to gain valuable work experience and skills. Four years down, I hope to hold a degree in Biological Sciences from the renowned New York University.

NYU’s location in Abu Dhabi is a plus point for me as I can continue to engage in volunteering activities during my university days. I am actively involved in volunteering work at the school and community level in UAE. I regularly volunteer with organizations like the Community Development Authority, Dubai Cares, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, and Waste Management groups like the EEG, Bee’ah, and Tadweer. I am also an adoptive guardian of two mangrove trees in Sir Baniyas island and hope to continue caring for the mangroves.

Abu Dhabi, being just a 5 hours flight time away, allows me advantageous access to my home town in India. This will enable me to continue mentoring the visually impaired students at the Blind Boy’s Academy, Narendrapur, during the summer vacations. Additionally, studying at NYUAD will provide me the added benefit of being near my family and friends.

I was honored to be selected by NYUAD to attend the 4-day University Prep Program in July 2019 where we were given an overall understanding of life at the university. I interacted with like-minded people and communicated with multi-cultural groups on the campus. It was a thrilling experience to tour the beautiful premises, state-of-the-art laboratories, superb dorm rooms, and first-class dining halls at NYUAD.

I believe that inspiration and perspiration work together to help achieve our dreams. I wish to dedicate myself to the pursuit of scientific knowledge for the technological advancement of the world after gaining knowledge during my studies at NYUAD, and I hope to become a responsible citizen of the future.
