My Potential to Obtain a Ph.D. in Information Technology and Engineering

Since my childhood, computers are my favorite things. Not just for games and surfing the internet they provide, although that is a large part of it. Later on in my 10th grade, I was introduced to computer programming which fascinated me to pursue my career with computers.

When I began my undergraduate studies in Information Technology and Engineering, I had the opportunity to explore different courses for computer science, which motivated my interest In various areas of computer science and gave me incalculable academic insights. Along with that, my professors have also contributed to my development by not being restricted to a specific area. In spite of that, I understand that in order to be a good researcher, I need to specialize in a field. As a graduate student and working as a research assistant for a year and a half, I also have my research interest. I’m mostly interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning. In addition, I’m also interested in image processing and computer graphics.

My plan is to move ahead with my graduate work, towards another degree: the doctorate of philosophy. The main objective of pursuing Ph.D. is to continue working with amazing people in the United States, as a scientist.

It would be a cliché to say that all fields in computer science are interlinked. I have experienced this by myself while working on a problem in one field, I have been through the analogy looking at another problem, that one would normally put under a different field. Therefore, I have considered two criteria for my Ph.D. which incorporates the colleges is putting forth solid courses in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and computer graphics. The University of Colorado - Denver more than satisfies these criteria. There is one more reason, in my master's thesis, my guide and I are concentrating on the development of an algorithm for estimating leaf angle distribution for the leaves using a 3D point cloud.

I plan to carry on the advanced study of artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as related fields (for instance, algorithms); through the coursework as well as through the continuous undertakings, which will likewise give me opportunity contribute my insight and comprehension in the fields which intrigues me to such an extent. I am keen that the output of my Ph.D., be well worth the time and effort spent on it. For the reason mentioned above, I am sure that the University of Colorado - Denver will provide me a right environment for this.

I would be completely reliant on help to back my doctoral examinations.
