Introduction

As the Holy Bible states, God created the entire human generation in his image and likeness. That is why Christians believe in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity which provides a basis for all social relations including gender and race. According to the biblical creation perspective, God who is the threesome, (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) created the human race. Thus, that implies that our gender and racial relationship ought to co-exist with what God requires of us.

Through the doctrine of the Trinity, we can learn from the creation story that God created human beings with a different gender. That means people should fall in love, more especially the relationship between men and women should have love, acceptance, and oneness. According to the Christian discipleship, the relationship between a man and a woman should be comparable to the one that God showed to His son Jesus.

But as a man and a woman get in a relationship, they should have love, oneness, and glory. We can draw those aspects from the book of John 3: 16 which says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." That is why even if one is in a relationship, they should convey God's intention of oneness.

Sadly, a primary contemporary issue of gender includes violence against women. Apparently, the modern-day relationships lack unity and individuality, with domestic violence against women hitting our news headline daily. Women also have a voice, and should not be victims of the ultimate reality of disadvantages such as sexual abuse and domestic violence.

A Biblical Response to Avarice, Sloth, and Lust

According to the Catholic tradition, sloth, avarice, and lust are capital sins introduced to the human generation by Adam when he chose to disobey God and ate the forbidden fruit. To begin, sloth refers to a condition in which an individual avoids any physical work and might even decidenot to follow their good intentions. Such individuals might also desire to disobey the will of God because of their natural condition to dodge everything. Laziness characterizes sloth, and people who are experiencing this situation might end up breaking their marriages and backsliding in their Christianity.

On the other hand, Avarice is the natural desire to earthly materials, always characterized by greed, fraud, and robbing the poor. According to the book of Exodus 20: 1-17, the tenth commandment states that “You shall not covet or desire anything that is your neighbor’s.”

But sadly enough, the contemporary society has people with sinful actions. The society has the upper and lower class. Those in the upper class think that they control all wealth, property, and power. But Christians should regard Avarice as a sinful act that arises from greed.

According to the Catholic doctrine, people can only engage in sexual pleasure if they getmarried in a permissible way intended by God (Salzman & Lawler, 2008). Sadly, the current society has redefined the meaning of marriage. We have seen several states supporting same-sex unions, several states have allowed abortion, and others have permitted prostitution. From the Biblical perspective, lust destroys our relationship with God. It weakens our faith and can drive us to engage in some fantasies and desires which makes our heart impure. Through this social vice, God destructed Sodom as stated in Genesis 19:24-25.

Additionally, the second commandment states that one should not commit adultery. Therefore, earthy materials should not leave us ultimately empty. God wants us to lead a pure life without weird desires.

Evaluating and Application of Goodness

Goodness is a Christian aspect. In fact, it is a fruit of the Holy Spirit according to the book of Galatians, 5: 22. Therefore, it is the Holy Spirit that leads us to do something right. But in whatever good that we do, we should do it to please God. When helping a needy neighbor, do it to please God. When singing a praise or a worship song, do it to please God.

Nevertheless, we should know God when doing any good thing. According to the book of Jeremiah 9:23-24, God tells us that our most great pursuit involves knowing Him. God’s goodness has righteousness and Holiness. According to the book of John 15:8, Jesus also advised His disciples to be fruitful in their action by knowing the right thing to do and doing it with passion. That implies that while doing anything deemed good, we should abstain from doing anything evil.

The Bible further states that God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32). Thus, the scripture guarantees us that God will greatly bless us if we do good. Even Jesus advised us through the book of Luke 6:27-28 that we should do well to everyone and also love our enemies. But the goodness must be pure. We should not only do goodto people who do good to us, but it should be to everyone.

God also says that the pursuit of His knowledge is more superior to human pursuits. It is, therefore, necessary for a person to know God and give Him the priority in their lives as there is no noble goal than that. When an individual recognizes the actual aspect of God, they will be able to have properperspectives for themselves.

Many people evaluate themselves by comparing their lives with those around them. We can use God’s knowledge to assess others and have a different perspective.

Some of the bad things that we do as human beings arise from the fact that we lack knowledge about God. For instance, we have experienced people getting into inappropriate marriages, alcoholism, stealing, and listening to ungodly music. But once we have a proper understanding of what the scripture says, we can avoid such social vices and lead a pure life.

We cannot survive in this world if we choose to reject God and His teachings. The most significant thing that we can do to please Him is to respect His teachings and leave according to God’s doctrine. And for us to have a kind soul, a perfect heart, and excellent character, we should posse ‘Goodness’ which is an incredible gift of the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion

We can only experience a good life if we choose to conform to God’s perspective about goodness. God is the creature of all creatures, and as such, we should dedicate our lives to His teachings revolving around honesty. That is the only guarantee that He will lead to the gift of eternal life.
