Steps to install water pumps

Following are the several steps usually use to the installation of water pumps, including:

• Choose a correct water pump, which can be installed with your tractor easily.
• In case of a hot engine, cool it down and drain the coolant from the radiator.
• Disconnect all hoses and inspect it. For an instant, if hoses are cracked or damaged replace it with new hoses.
• Carefully remove the damage, and don’t damage the radiator.
• Remove the old water pump, note any special location and length of the bolts. In case of badly corroded and rusty bolts, replace them with new ones.
• When the pump off, clean the sediment and scale in the block or head.
• Run a thread chaser through the water pump mounting holes.
• Remove gasket material from the pump surfaces.
• Make sure, you pump must be equipped with steel backing plate cover. In case, your new pump doesn’t have any plate, clean the old one and add a new gasket. However, after that place it with the new water pump.
• Check all the screws and bolts of the tractor, replace the old ones.
• Tighten the screws and bolts.
• Coat the gasket with a “tacky” sealant and position of the pump. In case, you are using silicone style sealant, don’t apply excessive amount. However, excessive apply can clog up the water pump passages very easily.
• Tighten the drains plugs.
• Fill the radiant with coolant and check the leaks problems.
• After installation, run the engine until it gets a normal temperature.
