A Midsummer Night's Dream was a comedy written by William Shakespeare around 1595 where its protagonists will be Hermia and Lysander. A couple in love who will have to fight against adversity to be together. The story offers an ancient Greek love triangle that will take place in the forest where several situations will happen with the help of fairies and forest dwellers. This will make all the characters believe that all the events that lived in the forest was only a dream. Shakespeare's work shows that society is governed by laws where Hermia must follow the will of her father Egeus by marrying someone who she does not love. This play is an example of moral philosophy.

The human being since birth is governed by principles that help a person to achieve a stable life, full of happiness, satisfaction, and victories. Ethics has a fundamental objective on how to do things correctly because these values were instilled as we grow that make us a stable person. Ethics is a discipline of philosophy that studies human behavior and it is what helps us to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. Hermia is in love with Lysander but she refuses to marry Demetrius, a man that his father Egeus has chosen for her. According to the laws of Athens, Duke Theseus says that a daughter's duty is to obey her father's will and the threat demanding that she marry the man her father chose or must enter a convent. Then, Lysander and Hermia decide to run away from Athens secretly and marry where the law cannot reach them. The couple tells their plan to Helena, a girl who is madly in love with Demetrius and hoping that he changes his mind about Hermia decides to reveal his plan. Demetrius follows Hermia to the forest and Helena follows Demetrius so that the four are in the forest that night. The event was located at the California Stage Co in Sacramento CA. This theater is a small space for around 50 people. I liked that the stage was so close because I enjoyed the emotions of the actors I could feel more connected to their performance. It was a pleasant experience to attend such a familiar theater for the first time. The energy and the development of the actors made me enjoy the play more. It was two hours of many laughs and good memories. I had the opportunity to read the book in a literature class, but have been able to attend this play with actors as versatile as funny made this function memorable for me.

A Misdusterm Night’s Dream is one of William Shakespeare's most popular works. Although it has comedy and magic touches, it also demonstrates the importance of following the laws and regulations of Athens and the consequences they have in not fulfilling what society expects us to do. This performance made me see that sometimes doing the right thing does not always make us happy.
