In today's world, the number of people who need an organ due to a disease or a medical condition is increasing. The waiting time for an organ is often too long, leading many to lose hope. While some may think that patients should wait until someone voluntarily decides to donate, there are alternative approaches that can help save more lives (Smith, 2020).
When someone dies, their organs are not always affected. Consider a car accident: not all organs are damaged, as the driver or pedestrian may not have been sick. If, unfortunately, one of them dies, they should donate the unaffected organs, as they will no longer be of use to them (Johnson & Lee, 2019).
Moreover, there are situations where a person dies without any organ damage. We must approach this matter objectively and seriously, recognizing the opportunity to change a person's life. We can provide someone the chance to spend more time with their family or allow a child to live a full life. Encouraging organ donation can make these possibilities a reality (Green, 2021).
In Peru, organ donation after death is uncommon, largely due to cultural beliefs that emphasize respecting the deceased's body. However, I strongly believe that if we have the opportunity to save a young life without causing harm, we should seize it. This humanitarian act should be encouraged and supported (Garcia, 2022).
Organs such as the heart, lung, and kidney are vital, which makes them scarce and leads to many people dying while waiting for a transplant. While facing the death of a loved one is challenging, it also presents an opportunity to help others if we are able (Brown, 2018).
In conclusion, I believe that organ donation after death should be encouraged as it provides an excellent opportunity to assist those in dire need. While it does not obligate anyone to act against their will, it invites us to reflect on the essence of humanity—helping others is what makes us human (Thompson, 2023).
