One of the conflict actors is Iran because the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the Tehran sees Syria as a bridge to the Hezbollah’s client in Lebanon that contributed much in helping Syria. That triggered Tehran in a side to give a serious threat to Israel, which can give them assurance from Israeli attack. Syria as for Iran is a necessary defences for them because it serves as shield for Iran. Another is United States because they monitor the use of chemical weapons with airstrikes is an exceptional responsibility, driven by a national interest in limitation. Trump has cut off the Obama policy and the mantra of Trump’s administration is that it is only in Syria to fight Isis. Trump White House is desires to contain Iran, and that attracted the US to go deeper and still be into the battlefield. Turkey is also one of them because they are one of the most determined advocates of change in regime in Damascus was Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but now he is seeking somewhere to stay with the regime and its backers to break the Kurdish hold of the territory border. Russia also helps in the regime of Assad to win and prevail is an all-or-nothing intention, a test of strength restoration of Russia as a great power. The airstrikes are a humiliation that has to be swallowed. Yet Putin is well aware and ready of the dangers of head-on confrontation with the US and its allies. Lastly, Hezbollah, its involvement in the Syrian Civil War has been significant because turned into active support and troop deployment from 2012 onwards and it came steady in 2014. It deployed several soldiers in Syria. Hezbollah has been an active country to prevent insurgent dissemination from Syria to Lebanon.
The UN says at least 250, 000 people have been killed. However, the organisation stopped updating its figures in August 2015. But in December, 2017 they reported that number of dead reached more than 346, 600 people, including 103, 000 civilians. And that does not include 56, 900 people who were missing and assumed to be dead. Most of the people who have fled are women and children that are almost 5. 6 million people. According to the UN, neighboring countries such as Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey have difficulty to cope with one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history. The Syrian refugees of about 10% have pursued safety in Europe yet almost r. 1 million people are internally displaced inside Syria. 2. 98 million people had to live in hard-to-reach areas
The United Nations has tried their very best to address the conflict in deep roots and prevent more devastating impact. Its effort is focused in order to save lives and reduce the trauma and sufferings of the people. Its fundamental objective is to end the war between countries. They wanted to end the violence because some are violating the principles of human rights and the law itself. They also want to protect people. It continues to manage a humanitarian relief effort. But the government is not stopping to impose restrictions. They have removed medical supplies from the aider’s convoy and purposely and intentionally starved communities who are opposing. They also initiate to start a political process which is very serious for them. The regional countries have that responsibility to help end the war. They also hope to build confidence and reverse a destructive. They also wanted to ensure the accountability of every country for serious crimes because some uses aerial bombardments conquer territories.
The war in Syria is still going on mainly because it is really hard to get all of the participating countries to come meet their minds and agree to a solution beneficial for them. Wars are hard to end because in the case of Syria there are many countries that are involved that’s why it hard for them to come up to a decision. It started as an uprising but later evolved into a more serious revolution. Syria has now become a battlefield and all participating countries are working for their own interests and benefits. Yes, for me UN failed because they should have solved it before it became to this very devastating war. It should have solved it in the first place before it has killed millions of people and involved other countries.
