I want to write and answer the question 'Who Am I?'. I chose this question because it is the hardest question for me. In my opinion, it is hard to write about yourself, especially when you do not know what to write. As I get older, I accumulate more questions about myself. But still, I try to find answers to this large-scale question.
Who Am I? I think everyone in life asks this question. It can take a lot of time to understand who we are, or perhaps never fully understand. We gradually understand with age who we are. It can take days, weeks, months, and years to comprehend our true selves. At this point, I can say that I am a person with my own life position, worldview, and personal experiences. In my opinion, it is very hard to understand who we are because every day we learn something new, gain new experiences, and strive to improve our lives. According to Smith (2020), "self-discovery is a lifelong journey, marked by continuous learning and adaptation."
Currently, I want to be a good mother to my beautiful children. They need a mother who can be responsible for them, love them throughout their lives, and be there when they need help. Perhaps now I can say that I am not only a person but also a mother to two beautiful girls. In this role, I find profound meaning and purpose. As noted by Johnson (2019), "parenthood often provides individuals with a sense of identity and fulfillment that transcends other aspects of life."
Procreation is one of the most important meanings in our lives. From a biological standpoint, it is safe to say that a person’s main purpose is the continuation of the species because a person is mortal, but life on Earth must continue. However, this approach, I think, is too simple. We all witness the progress linked to the world. One day, the formula of immortality may be discovered, and the constant continuation of the species could lose its significance. Can it be argued in this context that a person must exist only to reproduce? Hardly. In today's world, it is already clear that individuals have more important goals, including the improvement of society and scientific advancements. As Davis (2021) suggests, "human aspirations have evolved beyond mere survival to encompass broader societal and intellectual achievements."
Given all the above, to answer the question 'Who am I?', I think the answer is now much easier. Without denying the need to continue the human race and life on Earth, I still identify myself as someone who seeks to improve the world. We are surrounded by many imperfections, and I believe I can contribute to discoveries that can enhance the world around me. Like every other person, I am an undisclosed potential, a prospect for world improvement, a chance to make it more interesting and diverse. As noted by Brown (2022), "each individual holds the potential to impact the world uniquely and significantly."
