Argumentative Essay: is Education Important

Since Malaysia was colonized, education already exist here, but it was not for everyone. Education before just for authorities and rich people. Malays mostly did not get any opportunities to go to school, but just learning about religion. As the time goes by, Malay people already got the right to get education, not just religion but also History, Science, Mathematics, Astronomy and so on. From this scenario, some doctors, teachers, engineer, philosophy were produced from our society. This result indicates that education is important, to maintain our life in global level, as we will have engineers to produce technology to ease our work, doctors to treat any diseases, teachers to teach young generation and so on. Unfortunately in this era, some parents think that getting educated especially going to school is not important, as they think that it will waste their children’s time and energy. They may also think that their wealth is already sufficient to accommodate their children’s life. This situation is unhealthy, as they spread their thinking to others by saying school is not important. The big question here is, does education important?

Education system may differ from one country to another. This is due to their government requirement in workplace, their lifestyle and so on. As in Malaysia, government education institution consists of kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and university. Now, let’s move to our main question. Education is very crucial as it can change our society’s fortune. As we know that Malaysia contains variety of races like Malay, Chinese and Indian. Chinese nowadays seems to monopoly the business industry in Malaysia, left the Malay behind. In this case, education can lift up Malay’s place by producing young entrepreneurs and business people via business school in university, as well as business subject in secondary school. With this path, our economic activities can be declined, thus can level up our economy level, parallel with other growing country. Other than we can be at the same level as other growing country, we can also compete within them, in term of import and export products in and out of the country. Hence, this situation will open up our mind that education is crucial for country development, and our society fortune.

Malaysia is one commonwealth country, and had colonised by bigger power. Malaysia also has numerous of artefacts left by history, which are very valuable to our country. Historian believe that there are still artefacts that not yet to be found here in Malaysia. Back to our topics, education of history is very important here. Historian was born through our country education and specialist in finding artefacts. Besides, history education is also necessary as we can recognise and appreciate brainy people and patriot in history and their efforts back then to keep our country harmony. They had experienced some other things that may not be experienced by many of us. If we do not know where we came from, we do not know what has shaped our thoughts and our beliefs. Politic problems today can be related and reflected back to our past politic problems. Brainy historian can be useful to at least giving ideas on how to figure out the problems and solve it. Not just brainy historian, our patriot also contribute harmony that we have now. They sacrifice their life and family just for the sake of our country. As we know their efforts, we might feel touched listening to their story, and started to love our country more, support and backup our country’s dignity.

‘Money is not everything but everything needs money’. Have you ever heard of that quote? Yes, living in our country nowadays is crucial to have money, in order to maintain our life. Foods, education, shelter, clothes need money. Being educated open the path to the person to have higher quality in job and good high paying job. Everybody wants a good life! Some people may say money is not everything, money cannot buy happiness and value of relationship. If you want to build a family, of course you need money, to sustain your family member’s basic needs. Money cannot buy happiness but when let say a family leader do not have enough money to pay for shelter, food, clothes, do happiness glad to come? It is quite impossible to keep living in condition of insufficient of money. Most of us earn money from job of serving skills or intelligence. This kind of job needs a proper education of somebody. Education is basic human needs nowadays. Education is not just reading and writing, but what actually matters is skill. Having educated workers does not guarantee a company or an institution to be success when the workers themselves do not have proper skills. Social skills, life skills and communication skills or even customer service skills really required to keep credibility and reputation of a company. These skills come through process of education. This reveal how important education is.

To put everything in a line, education is not just being clever in exam, and can upgrade someone’s social level, but it matters to ourselves, our life, our races and our country. Being educated is crucial and beneficial. It can ease our life a bit or more, and can make us happy from that benefits. I will put a big yes to how important education is.
