Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is well known for its culture and tradition. The past or history of Jaipur comes alive in the forts and places. It was established by the great warrior Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. In the very beginning Amber was the capital of Rajasthan, but later from the safety point of view it was changed. Jaipur is also known as Pink City because of its architecture and constructions made with pink stone.
Amber Fort: Amber Fort is one of the most attractive forts of Rajasthan. It gives a beautiful top view with Maotha Lake in front and surrounded by greenery. It is a brilliant masterpiece of Rajputana Architecture. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh I in the 16th century. The Amber Fort includes various sights of attraction inside like, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Khas, and Ganesh Pol etc.
Jaigarh Fort: Jaigarh Fort is just near the Amber Fort, it was built to protect the Amber Fort from the enemy. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century. It is also known for having world’s biggest cannon that is “Jaivana Cannon” and many tourist come here just to see that cannon.
Nahargarh Fort: Nahargarh Fort is another masterpiece of Rajputana Architecture. It is also one of the best place to visit in Jaipur. It is also known for giving a beautiful view of Jaipur from the top.
Jal Mahal: Jal Mahal: Jal Mahal is another sight of attraction in Jaipur. Jal Mahal is situated at the heart position of “Man Sagar Lake” and it gives stunning views at the time of sunrise and sunset. The purpose of building Jal Mahal was for utilizing it as a lodge and hunting palace.
Hawa Mahal: Hawa Mahal is one of the most prominent landmarks of Jaipur, built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. It has approx. 900 windows that are called ‘Jharokhas’ and was built for the ventilation and especially for the ladies of the royal family, so that they can see the outside activities in order to get entertained.
Jantar Mantar Observatory: Jantar Mantar is another attraction for tourist in Jaipur. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh because he has a keen interest in astronomy. It was declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
City Palace: It is one of the most famous attractions among tourist in Jaipur. The architecture of the City Palace is the combination of Rajput, Mughal and European style.
